I wish I was that brave. I have weird cowlicks at the back of my head and I really need professional help in the hair cutting department, LOL. My last cut was back in February about a month before the world shut down. I normally go in every 3-4 months and my normally short (nape of the neck length) hair is touching my shoulders. It’s totally driving me insane and I hate it.
I would love to go get it cut, but the place I go is a 40 minute drive away one way and it takes 45 minutes to get a cut. DH has been busier than he’s ever been with work so he’s never home during the day, the guy I go to for my haircuts doesn’t work nights or weekends and I’m not comfortable leaving my kid home alone for what would amount to roughly three hours. So my hair is miserably long. 😫

I'm not brave enough and I don't think my stylist is available right now.

DD18 and I have been cutting each others hair, and she's been clipping DS hair. DH is bald and takes care of his own upkeeping .

I’ve been growing mine for 7 years with trims every few months. I trim it myself. It’s to my waist. It has nothing to do with Covid. Lol Oh wow, 7 years? Even with some trimming, mine would be down to the floor. When it's at your waist or longer, don't you feel like your hair is everywhere?? Mine is very thick and curly so it's just way too much for me when it's beyond the middle of my back. Kudos to you for growing it and keeping it so long! Good ideas from everyone else. Not too sure I'd trust DD with sharp scissors. She has shakey hands from her meds and D has arthritis. I thought I might just snip it off, but they usually do it in layers at the salon. I'm tempted though!!! I have super fine hair so it’s like Cotton. Lol I wear it in a ponytail braid because yeah it drives me nuts. And yes there’s hair EVERYWHERE with my hair and my 18 yo dd. Plus cats. I know some people think older women shouldn’t have longer hair. But I could never get my hair to grow long before-I didn’t take proper care of it and I would get annoyed at it and cut it. For the first time in my life I’m in a place where I’m happy with my hair so I just enjoy it.

Yep. Mine had gotten down to mid-back and was just too long and the ends weren't healthy. I asked DD to cut it, but she was afraid of doing too much and just made tiny little snips. I finally took the scissors and lobbed off about 6 inches. It's not good. I need layers. My hair is very thick and now it looks like a pyramid--lol. At least it's curly, so the unevenness is hidden!

I'll be asking DD to cut mine, probably for the New Year. I like it long enough to stuff into a pony tail, but it feels way too long now. I'm wearing hooded sweatshirts everyday, and my hair just ties itself into knots.

I cut mine! I did a unicorn cut after watching many videos on YouTube. It turned out pretty decent! Basically you brush all your hair forward, put it in a pony, and angle cut!

I normally get my haircut every 7 to 8 weeks. I have an a-line cut typically.
It's been 10 months since my last haircut. My hair has grown probably 6-8 inches. The back is crazy because of the a-line cut.
I watched a lot of videos in the summer on cutting your own a-line cut but chickened out. I'll be spending 10 days at Christmas with my parents (we are each others bubble) and she bought hair cutting scissors. So, we'll see what happens over Christmas.
I'm actually not mad at the length because ponytails rock! I forgot how great it is to be able to pull it all back. So, I may have her even out the back and just let it grow until I'm comfortable going back to the salon.
We actually know 2 people who have gotten C19 from their hairdresser, so we're a hard no on going for now.

My hair grows very fast too. Fortunately, I just had it cut to above my shoulders just before Covid hit here. It was below my waist and really bugging me. Ever since I had to stop working, I have been growing it to my waist, cutting it above the shoulders, and donating it. This last cut made the 4th donation. It is getting long again so I am wearing it up. I may get my son to take several inches off for me. I have enough irritants right now and don't need heavy long hair added to the list. I will just have to skip a donation this time because I don't have the patience to let it get really long this time.
I have been cutting my dog's hair myself during the pandemic. Sometimes it comes out pretty good and other times, if he is not into it, it doesn't look that great and I'm happy we are not going to the dog park where people would see it.
Did you know that George Clooney has cut his own hair with a Flowbee for over 25 years? That surprises me for some reason but makes me respect him even more.

I cut mine a couple of days ago, I kind of just decided when I got out of the shower that it needed to go. I think I did an ok job, it's shoulder length and curly so if the ends are a little wonky it doesn't show.

My husband has been cutting my hair monthly, for the last 3 years. I refuse to pay what salons are charging to cut a straight line. My DH does a great job!

I did. I normally get my hair cut every 6 months. My hair grows fast too. I like to keep it cut to about my shoulders. It's wavy and my stylist cuts it in long layers. Before Covid I missed getting it cut last December like I usually do, and then Covid hit. By this fall it had grown really long, past my bra strap and was really starting to bug me. I bought some hair cutting shears from Amazon. When I style my hair it forms these wavy strands of lots of hair twisted together. I just took each of these strands and cut them one by one. I looked at the back and it was one length half way across and another the other half. Woops! DH helped out straightening out the back and he did a great job. I was so happy with my shorter cut. It's so much easier to take care of. I think getting hair cutting scissors is a big part of the success. You need really sharp scissors to do this, not household scissors. I cut DS's hair too. Have you thought of doing a unicorn cut instead of doing each curl? I think it gives you a v shape. I haven't done it because my hair is kind of thinner. Wow does some of your hair grow fast! I've heard about unicorn cuts but I hadn't read about how to do them. Maybe I'll try that next time?

My hair is usually short so I have it cut often. Last cut was in Feb. it was getting long and on my nerves so I buzzed it all off. I don’t see many people and it will grow back. It’s a bit of a shock but it’s not a frizzy, tangled mess anymore.
