I have been making slimline cards for years, way before the recent craze... Sometimes it's nice to make a different size just to mix things up a bit, right? Here is a simple template to make professional looking envelopes and use up some of our paper stash. No template. Stupidly I bought some slimline envelopes from Simon Says. Was I disappointed when they turned out to be just plain white envelopes. Only difference was that they do not have the security lining that the ones I have home do. Next time I will get them from Target or somewhere local. I was expecting a heavier paper, but nope!

Thanks for the video and template. I've only made a few SL cards and I just used regular business envelopes, with security lining! (No peeking inside at the card!) Sometimes it's nice to make a different size just to mix things up a bit, right? Yes, sometimes A2 is just a bit too small and the design looks crowded. I went through my stash and found a few packs of A6 (4.75 x 6.5) and A7 (5.25 x 7.25) envelopes I bought on clearance somewhere for $1.99. I don't even remember buying them.

White is OK, it gives you the opportunity to decorate it. I use a stamp I used to make the card on the envelope. I ink up blot off then stamp on the envelope to get a lite image. Don't worry about the security unless you are sending a check. If it is important to you, use up some scrap to make a liner. I normally use paper to make my own envelopes to coordinate with the card.

Oh, sorry I was not clear. I have security-lined envelopes at home for regular mail. I bought some plain white envelopes from Simon Says thinking they would be thicker paper then what I could buy at a dept store. But no, they were just over-priced plain white thin-paper envelopes. I'm kind of picky. I like plain white, or matching colored pre-made envelopes, but I am too cheap to pay for colored envelopes when I don't know ahead of time what color I will need. I know. I pay extra for being picky. But I don't have any other things that I over-spend money on.
