My favorite is a block of cream cheese with raspberry jalapeno jam spread over the top and served with Big Wheat Thins. SO good!

I love appetizers. Here are basics. I am looking forward to seeing people’s specialities. 7 layer dip ( somewhat similar to what Christine58 posted but also with bean dip on the bottom) Bread dip (that is what we call it. No real name but it is like a dried beef dip but I use fresh (like Budig) beef and served with different bread pieces, pita chips, or whatever you like. chips and a variety of dips Shrimp stuffed mushrooms deviled Eggs kielbasa slices in BBQ sauce (with maple syrup) jalapeño poppers ( basic cream cheese filled jalapeños wrapped with bacon) bacon wrapped scallops or water chestnuts Cheese and crackers ( love love cheese so all kinds including spreads like alouette or pub cheese) Mini quiche cups crab rangoons or wonton cups corn/bean salsa Is there a sauce for the bacon wrapped water chestnuts? My mom made something similar when I was growing up.

Sorry, I just saw your question. For the water chestnuts: A lot of recipes that I see on the internet show a ketchup/brown sugar type sauce and some with soy that you baste on. I do not use a sauce. I just marinate my water chestnuts for a bit with soy and whatever grabs me. But the pictures look wonderful and will have to try some of them. I love the crunch of water chestnuts.
Again, I don’t use sauce on my scallops but just season them how I want. I do see many recipes with a variety of basting sauces. As with the water chestnuts, they all look great and now I want to try most of them. 😄
Sorry I am not very helpful. 😳

Maybe I need to leave the house and go to the store. 🤣

I have to work tonight and tomorrow night, my first NYE and NY day working from home...without having to deal with the traffic, getting home safely and without being pulled over. I hadn’t really planned on making appetizers but may have to celebrate and make some of both. I think I have all the ingredients. Unfortunately I want them now! Hahaha. I hope you have a great night and eventually have them.

I made the bacon and water chestnut recipe and I should have looked in my mom's cookbook first. I thought it wasn't in there. She called them Bacon Swirls and only used ketchup and brown sugar. The soy sauce will probably take away the flavor that I remember. They are baking now.
