I’m Sorry. There’s so much one step forward three steps back with Covid. Your friend and her loved ones are close in my thoughts. I hope this is only a quick step back for her, and will keep her in my thoughts as well freecharlie . How are her respiratory issues? Merge How are your friends doing? Has the wife been able to remain well enough to stay at home? Continued best wishes to freecharlie's friend. Dewryce, in the case of our friends, she is barely managing to stay out of the hospital. She went for monoclonal antibodies yesterday and collapsed in the entryway to the hospital. They wanted to admit her, but she insisted on going home. Two of their three young adult children are there and quite ill themselves. The husband is hospitalized and, as of yesterday, cannot speak or sit up without his oxygen levels going dangerously low. Something also caused his blood sugar to spike very high, though he is not diabetic, so they're trying to get that under control. They are trying to keep him off a vent but it's touch and go. I want to reiterate to everyone that he is 51 years old and had been in very good health. Appropriate weight, no chronic conditions, never smoked.

Glad he doesn’t need mechanical intervention, the rest sounds scary I will continue to think of them (and you).

UPDATE:
After multiple weeks in the ICU being on a ventilator, she is doing better. She has been moved out of ICU and into a normal hospital bed.
She isn't 100% out of the woods, but it's a win for now.

So glad to hear she is rounding a corner. We are trying to hold tight and stay inside as long as possible. DH (with severe auto immune lung condition) is scheduled for first vaccine 2/2.

Update 2/22 My friend got to leave the hospital and go to rehab last week. They are hoping she will get to go home on Thursday. She got to eat solid food for the first time since before Christmas this past weekend.
She still has a long road of recovery, but at least she is getting better
Thank you for your positive thoughts
