My daughter told me about him. He has a definite pattern of ableism. I'm not a fan.

I don't have Twitter and I don't really care about him or Jeopardy, but I have to say that his "defense" that it didn't come out as the joke that he had in his head was really lame. It was a shitty thing to say and there is no world in which it's funny to post that. Just totally unacceptable in any era, really, not just our more conscientious era, so you can't use any defense here.

I won’t be able to watch jeopardy without Alex Trebec.
Ken Jenning is just not an acceptable replacement even with out insensitive tweets.

I'm having issues getting photos to post to the tap talk app, but he said in a 10/1/12 tweet, "I am samizdat movie where Sean Penn is retarded."

I’m all in favor of shaming Trump people in bookstores, but let’s be honest: how often is that going to come up?

09/10/2020 Stevie Wonder starts out Songs in the Key of Life by singing, "Good morn or evening, friends." Why didn't he just ask somebody?

Jeopardy Champion Ken Jennings won more than $3 million during his record-breaking 74 consecutive victories on the trivia game show. But he’s in serious trouble now after mocking President Trump’s son Barron for his response to Kathy Griffin‘s disturbing photo shoot, where she held what looked like a severed head of his father. Jennings wrote on Twitter, “Barron Trump saw a very long necktie on a heap of expired deli meat in a dumpster. He thought it was his dad & his little heart is breaking.”This was 2017. Making fun of a child and how he would react to an image of his dad beheaded. thepoliticalinsider.com/ken-jennings-trump-insults-barron-gets-destroyed/

If true, those are some seriously repulsive comments. I could not enjoy watching someone whose sense of humor is so inappropriate.

This stuff doesn't surprise me. I didn't like him from the first time he was on Jeopardy. He always seemed like a pompous ass to me. I was not happy his name was being thrown out there for Alex's replacement. I hope this stuff coming out now will take him out of consideration for host.

Interesting these didn’t come to light before now. Why would they? There are hundreds of thousands (millions?) of asses making offensive comments on Twitter daily. They only become headline/attention-worthy when the tweeter steps into the public spotlight in a significant way.

I'm not sure there is anyone who hasnt said stupid, insensitive shit at some point in their past. Sure, we’ve all been insensitive in our lives. But repeated, public jokes at the expense of marginalized groups... it makes one wonder what he says in private, if he’ll say these things openly. And it also shows pretty abysmal judgment.

They only become headline/attention-worthy when the tweeter steps into the public spotlight in a significant way. He’s had a pretty large Twitter following for quite a while, so I’m also surprised it hasn’t been widely known. I was aware he had a history of ableism because a couple tech accessibility reporters i know have made a point of calling him out. However, it hadn’t gained much traction with the general public.

Aside from his winning streak he’s participated in numerous tournaments, he’s the punch line in late-night comedy show jokes, he’s a total d-bag but he’s enough of a name that most people know of him, But I guess it’s like the Hillary/Hilaria Baldwin stuff where some people have known all along but it doesn’t become headline until the right person digs into it at the right time.
