Edited to add, I would advise against buying the grey Darice dies. They have a chalky black film on them that goes all over my paper and makes the edges blacken when I use them. I can only use those dies with very dark paper. Not sure if that was just a bad die set I got. Oh, that sucks! I wonder if there's any way to clean that off. Some kind of soak you could do in vinegar or some other solution for cleaning metal... I guess it depends what the film is. Is it some kind of coating? Ugh.

I had been reading a thread on the GS board about being nervous to reorganize stamps into envelopes and they mentioned using white cardstock backing sheets in their plastic envelopes. I have a bunch of my dies in plastic envelopes, some on magnetic sheets, some were just loose. I spent about an hour going through them and adding white cs backing pieces to most of them, and was able to consolidate some dies that I use together into one envelope. I don't have all my dies in plastic envelopes because some come in good enough paper envelopes, but I have few enough dies that it doesn't matter too much. It was good to go through and see that some get almost no use, and consider whether they're worth keeping.
At some point I'm going to try to find lightweight clearance cs and do my stamps properly too. Most are in envelopes but the backing sheets from the original packages are all different sizes and it makes them harder to flip through/see. I think I need to set aside some stamps in a "use it or lose it" box and declutter a few that I have already given ultimatums to.
Is making an inventory of die cut embellishments organizing? I think so! I sat down with my binder the other day and listed out all the sets of Doodlebug die cuts I could use to make cards. I have them in pocket pages grouped together so all the whisks are in one pocket with the whisk related punny sentiments I could use to make a "whisking you a happy birthday" card. I have at least 20 cards I can make with the leftover die cuts I have.

I've been using the binder for a couple of years, but I'm ready to use up these particular die cuts so having the list and seeing exactly how many cards I can make with them is really satisfying. Hopefully it will be motivating. Actually figuring out the card designs is harder... especially because I'm trying really hard not to buy any new supplies.

I completed this organizational challenge while I was sick but really it was months and months in the making. I got this idea from rts scrapbooking. I used my kids old school composition notebooks to house my bags and bags of emphemera. I hated wading throw all of them and the cellophane bags kept splitting open. Now I lightly stick them to the pages and little twist off frees them. I can find things quick now! The best part is seeing my kids drawings and handwritting on the pages As you can see, I’ve made lots of different manufacturer, color and theme notebooks.

coloradocropper that's a great way to re-use something you had. Saved some money on buying new books or binders for storage AND you get to enjoy the drawings again? Total WIN! The little piles and baggies drive me crazy too, especially when you sift through them and can't find the one you want, or they get bent or stuck together. Or you have to tidy up between sessions and all your carefully sorted die cuts just get thrown back in the bags. That just stopped me from tidying up, especially when I was on a mission to use up a collection. I would just leave everything out in tiny piles until I hated it. Then I'd tidy up and not want to start again because I'd have to re-sort. I keep my die cuts in pocket pages because I had tons of those around and it worked for preplanning my cards - this sentiment goes with these die cuts, put them in a pocket, ready to go. It's basically the same idea though - being able to page through things is so much easier. Totally Tiffany has a similar approach too. Keeping things vertical, visible, easy to flip through is the key for me.

coloradocropper what a great way to re-use your kiddo's composition books. So fun to see their handwriting. Great job! Also see that the label maker is your friend too!

Okay, I did finally got the frig cleaned! I knew that if I put it out there for our "scrapbooking" NSBR challenge in Organization, I would make myself get it done during the month! I waited until today because it was the most empty it's been all month. Grocery shopping tomorrow
This turned out to be almost four hours of cleaning. My refrigerator comes completely apart, fortunately! A few weeks back there was a smell that I just couldn't find, now I know what is was . . . some beef I thawed in the frig leaked all the way to underneath the bottom drawer, which you can't find UNLESS you dismantle everything above it! Once the ick dried out the smell was gone, but the ick was left behind. I took a break and then the bottom freezer was a breeze. Composting items that were past their date, or threw them away.
I am tired, but feel great that I have a sparkling clean refrigerator. Matches the chest freezer that is still totally full with our newly butchered beef, frozen cut corn, cherry tomatoes and green beans from the garden. Ready for 2021 food wise!

I've made a start but it's having to happen in pieces due to work schedules plus space limitations - I haven't done the UNDER shelf cleaning yet as I can't dismantle the fridge without a quiet empty kitchen. Virtual school happens in the kitchen so I have no spots to put the food and shelves if the kitchen table is in use. And our work schedules have been in complete conflict with school schedules the past couple of weeks. But it's a LOT better! You and I have almost identical fridges angel97701 And I'm glad you reminded me I get to claim some points for this chore

I finally had a good read of the challenge and I think I got more done that I thought this month. - inventory of the binder of puns - choosing stamps to color for the 100 day project and stamping them out - tidying up half finished cards into plastic sleeves - tidying metal dies into plastic sleeves and adding some cardstock and magnet sheet to the ones that didn’t have it - going through my Christmas ephemera bag and tidying and then actually using some of it! - going through my box of “correspondence” and choosing a big pile of old cards that people had sent me to be chopped up and made into new cards to donate - attempting to set up a new space for photographing my cards, probably a fail, but what I have works fine anyway - organizing my donation cards into holiday vs regular and stashing the box of holiday cards away for now. Can I claim time for endlessly overthinking everything I do, everything I own, where it lives, and how I can make it work better? Just kidding. when am I NOT ruminating on fixing everything that isn’t actually broke? I think that’s it! I’ll have to go back to my journal and estimate how many hours all that stuff took.

Many of us are alike, and don't you feel better joyfulnana that it is done? I sure did, now I can wait another what 2-3 years If it works one way for awhile and another way later on that is OKAY too! So thinking about is part of the process!
