I really fancy a pair of neon socks but I can't decide if I want pink or yellow or both! Or green maybe.
Green for me, but pink and green stripes would be the epitome of cheerful!

Can I ask the journallers a question? What do you write? I spent ages yesterday starting at the blank first page of a TN, pen in hand and head completely empty! I messed about with some scrapbook bits and bobs and made a small collage but there's no writing. Is that acceptable? I quite unusually had nothing to say.
You can write whatever you want! When I’m stuck, I write down things I am grateful for. Sometimes I write down things I did, or things I saw, or something that made me happy. Sometimes I write down a quote or a poem. I don’t often write ‘thoughts ’ if that makes sense.

I am SO rubbish at posting to this thread, because I rarely use my laptop to post on the board and it's really hard to share photos from my phone. Anyway, I'm hoping that this link to my instagram works so you can see the embroidery I did just before Christmas, of my sister's guinea pigs. I'm so proud! But also I did so MUCH embroidery that I have injured my shoulder somehow, so I'm taking a break from it for now. Grrrr. Off to check out all your gorgeous projects... http://instagr.am/p/CJs2hPqpz46 How adorable are they? You're incredible to design and stitch that. Just wow.

I filled my journal last year, and I also did not do it everyday. Sometimes it was a month in between but it truly is a treasure. I tend to journal my Bible study notes. But this year I am also journaling quotes I hear that I love, etc. I also journal prayers sometimes. For instance, yesterday I journaled a quote along with a certain scripture that really spoke to me. Then I added how I shared it with one of my girls and why. Some days are short and sweet, some days are empty, and others are very full. Why not journal something that brings you joy each day just to start. Easy, and when you look back on it, it should bring a smile to your face. Once you start, you will find what you like to write and what you don't.

I am on a roll right now! It helps that it is cold and snowy and we are in lockdown, so I don’t have much to do apart from knit. I started these socks back in August, and finished the first one on Jan 2. The second sock was quicker - finished off this morning. These will go to my DiL. I’m just about to cast on another pair, this time for me. LOVE these colors !!!

sueg and lainey have you ever seen the type of socks you knit for sale commercially? I have the perfect boots for them. Have you seen them on your travels? I am trying to think of a store here because we have a fairly large “artsy” population. Anything online?

There is one yarn store here that has them, and I've seen them at a couple of booths at a craft fair I go to most years - still hoping they will be able to go ahead in 2021.

I am totally blaming you for this! Because of course, it wasn’t worth just ordering one skein, when you get free shipping with six!

Okay, I have changed my colors for the CAL Bias Granny Temperature blanket. I added more colors. I started a few squares, and I wasn't happy with my original colors. So, here we go now. No more changing. LOL! The yellow and the grey will be used in the center for the first of each month to denote whether it was cloudy or sunny that day.

malibou did your sister like her gift? 😄 She loved it. At first I was afraid it was lost in the mail. I mailed her package and one to my mom at the same time. My mom's box arrived the next day, my sister's box took 2 weeks - it was sent 2 day priority. I had visions of it showing up on footage from a post office Christmas party. Anyway, she called me immediately and howled over the working lights and their 3 modes! In the background I could her her husband laughing like a cartoon hyena. I made her FaceTime me, he was doubled over and couldn't talk. 😂 My 11 year-old niece could be heard on the other side of the door repeatedly asking, What's so funny? The box also contained a set of ice pop molds to make 4 different Yeti ice pops! My radiologist bil full blown believes in Big Foot. They have even gone on Big Foot sighting trips. Anyway, eventually bil threw the ice pop molds out the door to my niece and asks her to make ice pops. She could totally be heard saying, What is so funny about ice pops?

malibou hysterical, I guess the words ice pops are going to become one of those family shorthand phrases for years to come.

I love it! malibou Come on 4 pm! At 4 pm I am a free woman for 10 days. I'm so looking forward to time off work. It should go quick after my lunch break. 2 meetings. A few loose ends to tie up. And then I'm outta there.

The wonkiness bothered me with my Christmas blanket and JoP was kind enough to send me a link to a tutorial for blocking acrylic with a hair dryer. I did it and it made me feel better. Eliminated the wonkiness.

A hairdryer! Much less phaffing around than spraying and waiting for it to dry. I’ve only ever used pins so might try the sticks - can’t remember the name! I can see now that I’ve been doing it incorrectly too. Great link, thank you both.

Also: Questions that can work for many: "How do I feel right now?" "Why do I feel this way?" "Name 3 things which you are grateful". "Name 3 things which would make today great" At night, "What made today great?"
