Perhaps even better news today. Contacted the psychologist who did the evaluation on DS15 in June while he was at Wilderness Therapy. Gave her a short explanation how he was borderline and not able to qualify for county and state services. She agreed to change his diagnosis to one that the state will accept and felt ethically she could do so based on her testing and observations of DS. He was also over by ONE point for eligibility on adaptive behavior score and she was willing to do a review and change it to a score that would take us out of the gray "no one will help you zone", into the eligibility zone. She was even willing to do so for a nominal fee, which could have been a lot more . . . this is such an answer to prayer. I am emotionally exhausted though b/c between emailing her, and talking with the county eligibility coordinator and doing additional research just is HARD. I am so thankful I don't have to find another practitioner such as a psychiatric NP, or psychiatrist, or MD, or DO that would be willing to evaluate DS. Just more trauma for him. We want to have contingency plans in place before something new happens. We seem to be doing better, thankfully, but the last 13 months have been a real roller coaster.
Oh, and I made some more orders of organizing supplies when I was awake in the middle of the night last night, so need to go add those points! LOL

I'm so glad this week has been such a positive one for you and your family. What a blessing to qualify for services.

Oh my goodness! Sometimes I just can't believe the systems in place to evaluate and provide services for people who need extra help. I saw similar (but different) things in NZ - my family has experience with the special needs system, my younger brother has a major developmental delay and other autism/mental health issues - and I could never get over some of the ridiculous gatekeeping and assessments... like what "percentage disabled" my brother is. How do you even measure that? ugh. I'm so glad you were able to get this fixed for your son. No one should be stuck in a "gray area"

angel97701 that's such great news! And what relief! Your greenhouse sounds divine. I've still not scrapped much, which makes me really glad I didn't sign up for the 50 pages challenge lol. That will change now that the online crops are back in full force. I see lots of scrappy weekends in my future And some organizing points as well. I hope everyone is having a good, productive (whatever that means to you) week!

I'm getting back to card making for my shop because Valentines is my (only) busy season. I need to add some new inventory to help get my current inventory more visible. Etsy rewards busy shops with more views and business. Yesterday I went through the pocket pages where I store Doodlebug die cuts. Basically each 3x4 pocket could be a card, I store sentiments with the die cuts that work together. It looks like I can make about 20 more cards with my current stock, on top of the 5 I've made so far this week. So I need to get to work! It's been way too long since I made any punny Valentines. I'll share what I've made soon.

How's it going everyone? I've seen some beautiful things in the sharing thread and I'm working to catch up there. It's so inspiring to see everyone's work. I've got two LO's done so far this month. Not nearly what I planned and the month is half over already! I guess we are back to time speeding by for 2021 instead of the weirdness of 2020. I'll take it! lol. I can't wait to see your cards joblackford.

How is your week going, Joyfuls? I have everything Christmas except for the tree down in the basement now. Almost all relegated to its bins down there. Still need to take down the tree decorations & store them in their bin, then dismantle the tree and get it lugged down there and into its box. By Thursday, I hope to have that job done. So all I will have down there will be the bins to stack along the wall of that corner, and I can return the living room furniture to its usual position and give the main floor a good vaccuming. Have a few more Christmas pages to do, and then I can start sorting my Christmas scrappy supplies in prep for stuffing those into their corner of the scraproom.
It makes me sad to stow away all the holiday pretties. They bring light and joy to a dark, drab season. Normally I would be planning my next road trip to visit grandkids, but Covid has taught me not to plan anything fun.
But in the meantime, I have scrapping to do! Need to finish those fifty pages I signed up to do before I can buy new stuff. (Who made me sign up for that??? ) Printed off one of my Pinterest pins to use as inspiration to scrap another Christmas story.

Been bitten by the organizing bug . . . someone encouraged me to sign up for that too grammadee
New microwave going in this evening. Turns out that the salesman didn't check their current stock, they actually had TWO in the warehouse . . . could have picked it up on 12/23 the day I bought it. THEY SAID they called on 12/24, but we never received the message. When I asked about a second call the excuse FROM the manager is they are so busy . . . too many customers . . . hard to get merchandise. Then when I did pick it up in the warehouse and noticed the exact same model number on the box sitting just inside the door I asked about that. The warehouse man asked who my salesman was and said, basically, that didn't surprise him. But the saga of putting it in? Two tries and we stopped for the evening. May try again later. Everyone was too tired.

I'm not signed up for the 50 pages - I'm way too slow for that lol - but I have only spent $3.50 on some gold mist so far this year. I'm watching what I spend and trying to up my scrapping game. Not doing too well there yet lol. grammadee my Christmas was down New Years Day. I look forward to getting it down and put away. I need to stop being a such a scrooge lol. angel97701 - wow, they had an excuse for everything! Although as someone who works in manufacturing and in an industry that is thriving in this pandemic, it is very hard to keep stock. Good luck getting the microwave in!

Good luck installing that microwave, angel97701. Fresher minds and bodies tend to have fewer problems with things like this. A concept my dh often ignores, so there are many late night sagas that have taken place in this house! I have no idea how all the companies and their staff are dealing with all the demand for products, but no one on site where the items are warehoused. I had one shipment of gifts I had ordered arrive really late, and then it arrived in duplicate! Organization is not my jam. I like to have a general "place for everything", but when I focus on organization, I over think it, so way too many categories. Then when I am looking for something I "organized", my mind is on creating and I can't figure out how I might have categorized it... Have put together almost 30 pages without adding any papers or embellishments to my stash, and the only thing I have been missing is the cardstock that matches my papers. But I have discovered a pad of woodgrain cs, which matches EVERYTHING, so I am good to get the last 20 done for the challenge. Have my sample done for the last Sketchy Saturday of January. Time to start figuring out what I will do for four 28-4-28 challenges next month. Have been working on scrapping December photos, but have taken next to none in January, so next month's pages may have a problem...

I’m back and it feels great! Me and my family got Covid. Talk about cramping my desire for scrapbooking! My DH even got double pneumonia was almost admitted to the hospital. It was really scary but he continues to improve everyday. I’m very thankful to be in my scrap room typing this! Grammadee, I posted a question about some of the Challenges not having point values (like the sequin challenge for example). I don’t think you saw the question so I thought I would as here. I like points!

Sorry I missed your question on the stickied thread, coloradocropper. I answered it there, and hope I explained it. I am WAY behind in counting my own points, and now I realize I have to read each of those challenges carefully...

Just use the Easy Peasy options. Count what you have created and multiply by the number of points.
EASY PEASY:
After you have calculated in your creating (1 point) and sharing (1 point), you claim a flat number of points for each creation, depending on its SIZE
***Give yourself 20 points for every creation that is at least 8”x11”.
**Give yourself 15 points for each creation that is between 5”x7” and 8”x11”
*Give yourself 10 points for any creation smaller than 5”x7”

So sorry to hear that, slicksister. Hoping that things lighten up for you SOON! Were you able to create at all this month? There are times when under stress I can go down the creativity rabbit hole and manage to eke out some peace; other times I need to feel the peace before I can create anything.

There are times when under stress I can go down the creativity rabbit hole and manage to eke out some peace; other times I need to feel the peace before I can create anything. Truth in what grammadee said slicksister. I had a several month hiatus during the summer/fall due to stress within my family. Boys adopted from Russia both off the rails at the same time Covid related.
Find joy in things that make you happy, and if crafting is not it, then step back and take a breather. For me many months was Bible journaling, a form of crafting but also so much more for me. Wrong season for gardening, but that is also where much of my mindless energy went during this time. Hang in there and find your "circle" to support you during your stressful time.

I went through my box of cards and letters from loved ones and pulled out everything that could be remade into a new card without losing a special message. My friend did the same with her box of cards, and is going to give me the fronts to make into donation cards. I have a lot more gluing to do! But not today.
I must have a very specific level of tolerance for gluing card fronts to new bases because I just counted up the number of recycled cards I made today and it's exactly the same random number as last time - 31!

I'm still creating a couple of times a week. It's the logging on and keeping score and taking pictures and posting them that is daunting and stressful to me. Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I DO have a lot going on but who doesn't these days?

coloradocropper, how is your family now? Hoping everyone is recovered or recovering. I can't believe I missed your Covid post. I am making birthday cards today. Started out all excited about using a new technique, but it didn't work quite like I wanted it to, so now I am stumped. Doesn't help that I have been cranking out pages, so card ideas have kind of run for cover. And one card needs to be done by this evening... Think I will spend some time adding up points for pages. Maybe that will be like drinking water to cleanse my palate?

slicksister I'm sorry life is so stressful right now. I hope things lighten up for you soon! No worries about the challenges, this is supposed to be fun, and if it's not fun then no need to apologize for stepping away from it! My job is ramping up and I've really not done much posting or chatting here, even though I'm still creating. We will be here if you decide to give it another go! coloradocropper I'm glad to hear your family is better! I feel like I've been totally MIA this month with work and IDK, just general mental stress from it. I've got several pages nearly complete, now for big push to get them done by the end of the month! And my fridge STILL needs cleaned

Feeling a little sluggish today. As usual, at the end of a project, I drag my feet. I thought I could get the LAST TWO Christmas pages done this morning (have 2 more done earlier that I can share tomorrow for the Sketchy Saturday challenge). Have the photos printed. Knew what papers I wanted to use (facing pages for some I have already shared, so just had to match), but it is very slow going. Have the first one put together (sort of). Just need to add journaling and a couple of extras. The second one will have to wait for Mojo to show up around here again.
Good news is that except for a couple of pages and the ones in progress I have done my homework and calculated my points.
How is everyone else doing?

It’s been a very productive month for me work, home, and scrapping wise. I know I won’t get to anything else tomorrow so I already totaled my points.... 970 for me!
May February be just as good. 😁

It turns out I was intimidated trying to calculate all the little bitty points, so I made 36 pages so I get 36 points for creating, 36 points for sharing? Does a picture with the stack of layouts count? And at 20 points a pop that gives me 792 points for the month. I probably won't play in Feb. I caught covid last week and we are all quarantined so that means back to home school. That gives me a lot less time as I have a bunch of kids in school. Maybe I will jump back in for March. Here is a picture from the side to prove that I did make 36 layouts this month. Yes, just go with easy peasy! So sorry that you are dealing with COVID and home schooling on top of that. Take it easy!
Augh, started out getting photos edited and ready to go to Costco to be printed, and didn't get very far! I'm tired. and my back is not liking that I am sitting at my computer! Little at a time. So I guess I can give myself another 20 points for organizing photos, so my total is 1406. It was all that card making, with tons of layers! Two sets of the sheetload cards. Goodbye January!
