I totally missed this week but it doesn't sound like I missed out on anything. I think I had more fun before they raised the prices. Now I really think about whether I need it or not.

If they’re going to have regular prices, they might as well bring in newer stuff. Karen Foster curling paper? That’s about the bottom of the barrel. I bought some overpriced (considering it’s overstock) SS winter stuff before Christmas, but now TM isn’t even on my radar anymore. Sad.

I have not been since November and honestly there’s nothing that anyone has mentioned that makes me want to go. Woo hoo, I may have unknowingly gone cold turkey on my Tuesday Morning habit. 😉

TM was once a weekly ritual for me. The prices went up & the variety went down. I’d rather buy things I really love online & pay full price. I admit buying things at TM just because they were a “good deal.” Total waste of money. They actually did me a favor by raising their prices. It makes me think twice before buying.

They only had one mostly empty box of craft items on the floor today. There were a fair amount of AC markers and some Tim Holtz small letter dies. The lady at the register said there was probably more in back. I'll check back later. I did end getting an EP pack of 48 pieces of colored cardstock. I have been working with the Down on the Farm paper pack the last few days and really struggled with the horse paper. I have some cute pictures of donkeys I wanted to use, so hopefully they will work.

I went today and nothing really new. I think prices are high and I mentioned it to the cashier (she's also the manager). She agreed with me, but said that people are still buying. She also said they got no paper in today's shipment and she said that was really odd. According to the higher ups, it'll get better. Who knows.

I just realized I haven’t been there in weeks. I think it may have been around Christmas time. My store really got wiped out during Covid and it never really has bounced back. Lots and lots of empty shelves.

I still visit every week, but the higher prices have definitely stopped me from buying. I have LSS in between my two stores and I do love stop by there. They just opened up shopping without an appointment there. You still get your temp checked and have to wear a mask and gloves. I hate wearing gloves, but I do.

TM has completely lost their minds on the new pricing... I guess now that they have filed for bankruptcy they need the extra $$$ to pay their lawyers ~

I haven't been in several weeks - like most folks here, my store still isn't back to the volume/selection it carried a year ago. The prices are also a big part - almost bought the EP solids, but realized their price was the same as regular retailers were selling it for...smh....not sure what they're thinking....My checking account has thanked me though! I was going every week after Christmas, hoping to score some of the HTV....but none other than 2 rolls of adhesive vinyl in glitter pink....

Went today. They had a few new paper pads (DCWV gold foil) and some Jen Hadfield line that is in the pad. I think JoAnns carried it a year ago. Family something. They had more of the King Art (I think) markers, some paint, some small inks, yarn, and plenty of canvasses. There were also a few WRMK punches for making envelopes/notches. Nothing I needed. I will say the rest of the store is starting to fill up. Lots of kitchen, bedding, and new spring item coming in.

Last week the only noticeably new items were a handful of Sizzix Thinlits die sets. This week nothing new was added to the craft aisle.

I like that our north store just dumps it all into carts and puts the cart into the aisles. People go through the cart for a couple of days and then they put the remaining 25% of it on the pegs and shelves.

950nancy , the discussion about the cutting mats got me thinking...do you think they could be cut in a Cameo machine? I've been wanting to make some stencils with my Cameo but haven't bought the stencil material yet. This could be a good way to try it out without committing to a full roll. I just saw a Youtube video where the lady used the colored report covers from Dollar Tree to make stencils. They were the right thickness. Just passing it on.

Unfortunately, none of the stores in our area leave the cart in the aisle or devote an endcap to new arrivals. Rather, new items are placed on random pegs often making it difficult to determine what's new!

I swore I wouldn’t buy any more summer themed supplies but I was in the area so I stopped in and found Fancy Pants Vitamin Sea. For less than $10 I got a 6x8 paper pad and a bundle of three embellishment packs.

Got there this afternoon and the craft cart wasn't out yet. The manager told me to come back and look as he unloaded large boxes. Had a nice chat. I know he chats frequently with the crafty people. He said his craft section was not doing well. He used to be in the top 10 % and has really dropped. We talked about the old ass Karen Foster paper, the over pricing of the paper packs, and the lack of dies and stamps. He said his manager just said it is their new business model. He also said that items will no longer have the four step clearance prices and that items that aren't selling well will just go to a red sticker and put in a clearance area. They won't get marked down further. I shared with him many of the things people have been saying on this thread since the pandemic began and he said corporate needs to hear from us. I told him I'd love to talk to boss if he was ever interested.

It takes more effort, but if I do contact them, I will probably write to Corporate at the address listed near the bottom in the link. It would be more likely to get their attention. If enough of us contact them, we might actually get their attention.

I went yesterday. The manager said that they had gotten a lot of paper in, and had sold a lot in the past couple days before I was there. There were LOTS of paper packs of 25 of the same sheet.
I saw a lot of new in the art part, but not so much in the scrapping part. I bought one pack of stickers and a TH thinlits alphabet die set.

I just told my manager IF someone wanted to talk to a regular customer who knows what other stores provide, I'd be happy to talk to them. I feel like if I contact them, I'm just another email in the pile. And you are right, a paper letter would probably be more effective. Perhaps sending them a link to this thread would help? ha.

I stopped by today to kill time before an appointment and was happy to find three different packs of versatile navy B-sides from My Mind's Eye--two from One Fine Day (irregular dots and a pattern similar to railroad tracks) and one from Blastoff (diagonal stripes). I'm always happy to find navy and the packs were only $3.99 each!

I made my first TM a purchase of 2021 and probably a couple months of the end of 2020. I got the Kaisercraft Havana Nights paper pack I don’t remember seeing this line and liked this collection, some really cool sheets. And that’s it, nothing else even tempting.

Have any of you spotted any scrappy or crafty items at Burlington Coat Factory lately? I saw someone on FB post about it but no further details. Just a mention that they have craft items now.
