I went yesterday after not going for a few weeks (so unlike me). I thought they wouldn't be getting shipments since previous years shipments stop for a few weeks over the holidays.
My store got a bunch of yarn, more of the Kingsmith Kingfisher (?) art products. They also got some new Simple Stories clear stamp sets and even more Echo Park cardstock. I spent a good 30 minutes organizing all of the paper. Apparently just getting out the house was what I needed. I came home with a 6 x 8 paper pad of Simple Stories Easter as well as a pack of ephemera and brads to match. Then I wandered on over to the Dollar Tree and bought 15 packs of the cheap plastic cutting boards so I can label two more shelves of my papers.

Good idea on the plastic cutting boards. I need to make dividers for my stamps and dies— these would be perfect. Do you cut them with a craft knife? Can you use a corner rounder punch? Any other tips?
You always have the best organizing tips! I think of you whenever I pull out my big tray of mini distress inks all in one place.

I just got back. I got a couple of packs of Bazzil white cardstock, Simple Stories Going Places small paper pad, the embellies and stencil for Going Places, and a couple of Simple Stories stamp sets. Pretty good after the dry spell!

950nancy, the discussion about the cutting mats got me thinking...do you think they could be cut in a Cameo machine? I've been wanting to make some stencils with my Cameo but haven't bought the stencil material yet. This could be a good way to try it out without committing to a full roll.

Lots of SS this week, but one collection I've seen some stores get didn't show up at any of mine (I went late to 2, but one had plenty of everything left and no sign of that collection, so it's an assumption, but a safe one). I don't really love the overall theme of the 'Heart' lines, but the colors are lovely. I did pick up the stamp set from that line as one store had that one (but no 12x12). Hoping that it's a split delivery and more will show up next week.
The price increases, though...man they are a tough pill. The last rounds of kits (and they included embellishments, too) were $6.99 and now they're $11.99. I sucked it up on a couple justifying it by not having to pay shipping if I got it from another discount store AND they're not as old (I don't think) as the collection from last Spring were.

They are really pretty thick. I have tried to cut them with a heavy duty rotary blade and have to make quite a few passes. I think they might tear up a blade. Stencil material I have used seems quite a bit thinner.

Any other tips? You always have the best organizing tips! I think of you whenever I pull out my big tray of mini distress inks all in one place. I seem to excel at organizing and scrapbooking is just a minor byproduct somedays. They are really pretty thick to cut with a craft knife. I have cut them with a trimmer, but it really dulls the blade fast. I like using them as a fun 14 inch piece, so the trimmer doesn't generally work. I got a heavy duty rotary cutter and after 3-5 passes it will cut them. I tend to use my thick shears to cut them. Then again, upper body strength is not my forte! I cut 80 strips in one sitting and my thumb was numb. You can definitely use a WRMK Corner Chomper to cut them easily. I didn't try my Creative Memories one since it has to slip into a small slot and I don't want to ruin it. I am on my third one! Here is how I use them. I can get five pieces from one sheet. I love that when I am done with a kit or collection, I can just peel off the label and use it again. ETA: It won't let me add the photo. We're out of space.

Many of our packs are still coming it at that price, but the ones that are $11.99 have the 12 sheets, stick sheet, and two more pieces like chipboard and ephemera. Now anything Authentique is just wayyyyy overpriced. Even the 12 piece collections with nothing else are $11.99. If I realllllly loved the paper, I'd get it, but I have talked myself out of anything Authentique. I can go to my LSS and get the paper for the same price and have a larger selection.

Apparently, I didn't take any pictures or they're not the first image from the princess/blue skies/camping week, but they were all $6.99 with 2 extras just like the ones that are now $11.99. I'm sorry if you've never seen them before, but I definitely have.
ETA: Found the post. The prices aren't in the pictures but I commented what the prices were.

No, I didn't see those. I wonder if that was about the time my manager said they getting new buyers who changed up the prices.

I'm not sure if that's the case or not, honestly. The old buyer quit immediately before or during lockdown according to the manager at my store. The new stock with the replacement person started showing up over the summer, so that means the Fall/Halloween stuff was with the new buyer. There is the possibility that the previous buyer had arrangements for upcoming seasons with certain companies and the Halloween and fall lines could have been a result of that, but I find that highly unlikely given that it had been well over 6 months before these items hit the store from the time the person supposedly left the company.

Who knows, but I do remember buying some camping Simple Stories packs with embellishments now. I think it was prior to Covid though. Perhaps two summers ago? I do know that their pricing has been really off. They were selling vellum (one piece of vellum) for $4.95. The pack specifically said to be sold individually for $4.95, but there was only one sticker on the pack of 15. My manager just shook his head and sold it to me as a pack. Some of the Authentique was marked as $34.95 as an original price, so it makes the $11.99 seem reasonable if you don't know regular prices. I also found some holographic Hooray! paper for $4.95 a sheet and the pack said original price $74 (for 15 sheets). No, no one is going to buy it at that price. I think the bottom line is the buyers are going to eventually find out if they can sell this stuff for the prices they are asking. I am guessing there will be a lot of craft in the markdown area in the next two weeks when they start to pull it. Even at 20% off, it will stay on shelves for a while. ETA: I would have loved to have found that Indigo and Ivy. It is pretty.

Last week our stores received several different SS embellishment bundles (containing 2-3 items each) for $6.99 & more paper, including SS 25-ct (same pattern) packs for $4.99, SS 6x8 pads in spring themes for $3.99, & recently-released EP Solid Pads (discussed here) for $14.99 (MSRP). I've never seen SS collection kits (= papers & 3 embellishments packs, as shown upthread) or SS clear stamp sets offered at any of our stores. ETA: Nothing new this week. A clerk indicated the store received a small delivery that only included yarn for the craft aisle.

I haven't been to my store since before Thanksgiving, but I've noticed in new haul videos that the Project Life core kits are now priced $8.99. They were $4.99 until Sep, and jumped to $5.99, which didn't seem too bad, but 3 more dollars in a couple months?
And it's all the exact same kits, not anything new. I saw Dreamy, Cinnamon and Aqua.

Thanks so much for sharing. I have a couple of the thin ones that I repurposed from the kitchen, but I've been using them under my working space for additional protection when I'm not working over a self healing mat.

He said people fill up carts and pay hundreds and hundreds of bucks. I guess they don't care who buys it, but I wish regular crafters could get in there first.

I've bought 11 since July, across 4 trips to TM. I've pulled out 1 of each 3x4 card, and some of the 4x6s. But the excess in the boxes are taking up a lot of space in my soon to be craft room. I've been much more choosy on recent trips. So I don't see myself buying any at $8.99 unless they come up with some of the Project 52 that I don't have. Or maybe a Heidi Swapp - I'm a sucker for her watercolor style kits and thinking about doing a MemoryDex from an old Rolodex tray with favorite quotes.

So now I know why I can’t find any of the chopping mats at my Dollar Trees. 😁 I had no idea crafters were using them.
I use them as a “backsplash” behind my dogs bowls to save my walls from getting dirty. They also fit perfectly as liners on the shelves Michaels craft carts.

I struggled to find them just prior to lockdown because I was using them for some projects and needed a bunch...took several stores. I use them for my dividers for stamps, for my elle's studio pocket cards, for a binder as pages to stick my extra elle's ephemera onto (like RTS scrapbooking, but without the wax paper), etc. They're very handy. I don't need them for my 12x12 dividers because I have the old school versions from some craigslist and FB marketplace finds, but I almost always have extras on hand because I never know when I'll need them.
