New Year New set of SLOC. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Ours was a quiet one,but I like it that way. It is January 1st and callmecraftyal has the first SLoC sketch out. Here is the video link youtu.be/UaW71V0U4kkI thought it would be fun to set a theme challenge too, I need a lot of birthday cards for this year and being January it is a good time to make a pile and being ready to send them out.Create a set of feminine, masculine or kid birthday cards. If you are part of a challenge team you can collect extra 10 points for each theme. Have fun!!!

That sounds great azcrafty. I have started the Jan Sheetload cards with Thank you cards because I need them. But I also need B-day cards so will do that too.

Another month already?! lol. I just got caught up printing the months I had missed from last year. I have to write and mail some thank you cards before I spend any time making cards. I guess I had better get on that... I already feel bad for leaving it a week after Christmas.

Thanks for sharing the sheetload, azcrafty . I needed 20 Valentines for a local nursing home. The last ones are from the same crafting session, using up some supplies.

jjpeapea wow, such a great set of cards! nylene Love the little pop of color with your butterfly! Mine are cut out, ready for assembly. Some will be thank yous, others I might leave blank for future use. Plus after organizing my already made card stash I have a box 14" x 9" FILLED!
Which means I should be sending more cards! I had some stashed in a drawer labelled ready to send . . . dating all the way back to 1997! Some are a bit dated, others remind me of techniques I should do again!

angel97701, that's impressive that you have made that many cards. I am hoping to get a big stash of cards for when we are "safe" to have Card Club again. In the meantime, I am just collecting them and sending a few.

Hey peas, I am interested in trying this out this year.
What do you like and dislike about this process? I just watched the Jan. 2021 videos to get an idea. Any tips?

kellyr21, I like the sheetload to just get me going. For Card Club I have to make 8 of the same card to exchange. So that works out perfectly. I also find that I can make a lot of cards using Sheetload designs with my leftover scraps. When I am in the mood to do a lot of fussy piecing, I can add those pieces to the Sheetload design or make up my own card design. I also like cutting all the pieces at once and while I am sitting in the car waiting for DH at an appt. I can glue them all together. Give it a try. I think you will enjoy it.

Thank you for sharing this! I hadn't been playing with my craft supplies in a while, but all that changed with Covid. I've been making cards for homeless teens, seniors in retirement homes, Meals on Wheels, and Catholic Charities. This resource has helped me streamline the process and be quite productive. It's been fun, and my cards are hopefully bringing a bit of sunshine during this time of so much sadness for members of my community.

Made these up last night after prepping about a week ago. Love them!
I used three ancient patterned papers, and two colors of coordinating cardstock because I didn't have 5 sheets of the same. My goal is to use up what I have rather than buy new to do the sheetloads. One stamp on the outside and two more on the inside. Glad I did them over two sessions. Putting them together and stamping was a lot of fun! Sending them to my prayer partners who have supported my in my journey with my sons.

I love these. THis has not been my favorite of her patterns but I love what you have done with it angel97701. I think I picked prints that were too busy. Beautiful set of cards!

azcrafty can we get team points if we use some of her other patterns for new themes?
Thanks everyone, I think pattern choice is important when you have so many layers. If you use larger specific patterns they get lost in the shuffle. Plus these are some of my favorite colors, and I had matching sequins so that was a done deal!

Any tips? kellyr21, what I like about the sheetload is that you can kind of prep while you do other things. So if I am waiting for something like nylene said, I can cut some pieces. Or the other night DH wanted to watch something with me (and I was kind of ehhhhh about it) but I cut my layers while I was watching with him. And then you can set it aside and you know where you are with things. I guess I look at it like a recipe for several cards, lol. I don't have to think too much, but at the end I have pretty cards.

angel97701 such a lovely colors, I really like the muted tone of the pp and the two different colored cardstocks brings more intrest to this. Thank you for playing and sharing! How about collecting only 5 extra points if you use a different theme for this SheetLoad or a different SheetLoad for this theme? What do you think grammadee?

I finally finished mine. I don't like too busy or bright colors, well this has both and I love them 🤣. I tried to pick my pp by a rule I have heard long time ago; big pattern, medium pattern and small pattern. I used black cs for the matting and just used about 1/16 of the inch to go around, I like to use black for matting because it grounds the pp and always goes with all the colors. The banner looked too plain so I used this die I have and diecut some of the leftover pp. I ended up with 12 cards I did add the blue pp so some could be for little boys. The cut apart worked perfectly for this. http://instagram.com/p/CKEgTq_J1by

kellyr21 just like what @kendramage and nylene said you can make these cards in steps. I have a lot of patterned papers and this sketch makes me use them ,otherwise I don't really use pp just buying them all the time 😅 . I noticed that I like to mat my layers on black cs even if she doesn't show that ,I just like it better. I hope you give this a try and find it fun. I think my fav is april2020.

azcrafty, I love, love, love these. I think making your matting color thinner is a great look. I think that's what I hated about mine. The strips between the colors were too big and covered too much of my patterned paper. I will do this when I do my next set. Are your cakes and cupcakes paper pieced? These are totally amazing.

@kendramage I think april2020 is a good one for people to start with, because there is less cutting. And thank you this definitely came out better than I thought it will. nylene thank you, I'm happy you like them and inspired you to try it again. I am planning to make a feminine and masculine version too. The cakes and cupcakes are a cutapart paper in the paperpad I used. They are like 4×3 tags so the banner hides the to and from message. It worked out perfectly.
