I just found some really nice looking puzzles on this site: eeboo.com/collections/piece-love-jigsaw-puzzlesI love a lot of the designs but am not too thrilled about the puzzle pieces all being basically the same shape and size. Not having done a puzzle for at least 20 years, DH and I recently enjoyed completing a Liberty puzzle with DD and her fiance while visiting them. I had never heard of these high end, wooden, laser cut puzzles. It was challenging and fun. On New Year's Day we started a 500 pc Springbok puzzle which we finished last night. It was fun and I'm thinking of ordering a few puzzles to have and to share with friends. Do you have favorite brands for quality? What makes a puzzle a good one for you? Also wondering about Hallmark puzzles... Thanks!

The reviews on Amazon for Eeboo puzzles seem overall pretty good. There are a few complaints about missing pieces, but there always are, regardless of the brand.
I’ve found that even when I am extremely careful, when I have a puzzle that appears to have a missing piece, I find it under a couch cushion, or under the entertainment center, or someplace else. Sometimes a week or two after moving on to another puzzle. I have yet for any to be actually missing pieces, even though I swear at the time that it couldn’t have been my fault that the piece was missing.
I haven’t made an Eeboo puzzle, but they look pretty! My favorite brands are White Mountain, Cobble Hill, Dowdle and Ravensburger.

I haven’t done one of EEBOO’s puzzles, but they are gorgeous pictures.
We like springbok, dowdle, and NY puzzle company.

Excuse me if this is old news to you.
We were given a 1,000 piece puzzle for Christmas. The grandson likes to give us a puzzle that he thinks will frustrate us. When we looked at it, we thought he might have succeeded this year. The picture was a close up of a tulip bed. The puzzle was made of balsa wood and the pieces fit together tightly. As we unpacked it, we noticed the back of the puzzle had letters of the alphabet on the back. After DH created the border, he observed that the alphabet letters indicated a particular area of the puzzle (all As in this area, all the Bs in the other area). After we worked about 1/3 of the puzzle it dawned on us that all the alphabet pieces "faced" a particular direction on the puzzle. That was a life saving bit of knowledge. We worked on the "areas" --DH working all the As while I worked on all the Fs. After I placed the loose pieces on our table lying in the right "direction" they would be when inserted in the puzzle, then the puzzle almost worked itself! I finished last night thinking, "I want every puzzle to have letters on the back."
An odd thing. The puzzle manufacturer is on the box, but I cannot find a website for the company on the internet. KAG puzzles

I really like the Ravensburger “large piece” puzzles.
I want to thank the Peas for reminding me how much I love puzzles. When I was a kid my brother and I would do them when we went to visit my paternal grandparents - their house was Really Boring for kids, and it was something we could do together to entertain ourselves. Now as an adult I find that it’s a nice way to keep my never quiet brain occupied and off the inter webs. Thank you Peas!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼

Our favorites are White Mountain. Galison is nice too. The minimum puzzle I will do is 1000 pieces. We did a 2000 piece one over the beginning of quarantine that was fun! We go through them very quickly so if I am going to take all that time to sort my pieces before I start, I want to make sure I'll be doing the puzzle for at least a few days.

I'm not happy with Buffalo Games puzzles. We just did one where pieces were interchangeable in some spots and we'd think a piece was missing but after looking super closely and taking parts of the puzzle apart it was just in the wrong place...it was frustrating. I have never had that problem with a puzzle before.

I do put together different puzzles, but I only love the ravensburger puzzles. The pieces stay together and they’re different shapes.
I do like doing puzzles where I cannot look at a picture and I have to put it together with my imagination. I cannot imagine putting together a puzzle that had letters on the back! It would feel like cheating.

Eurographics are probably my favourite manufacturer, I especially love the quirky pieces many of the 1000 piece puzzles have, and they have a huge range of images. Their Globetrotter and vintage posters are fabulous. I also love Ravensburger, Clementoni, Springbok and Jumbo. Lego has released a couple of 1000 piece images which are really good fun.

More questions for EVERYONE: 1.Thanks for sharing. If you have time, can you please tell me if the brands you've mentioned liking/loving have interestingly shaped pieces or if they're all kind of the same? 2. I would be ticked if I had missing piece or pieces in a brand new opened by me puzzle! 3. Do you use something special to assemble your puzzle on so that it can be moved aside at times? (I'm not interested in gluing the pieces in place and displaying, for me puzzles are about enjoying the experience of putting them together.) 4. Are there places other than Amazon you would recommend for purchasing puzzles online? I think Bezos is more than rich enough already!

I like the puzzles everyone else mentioned, but also wanted to suggest Pomegranate band. The Ceaco ones I have gotten from Target have been good too. They make a lot of Star Wars ones.
I have a puzzle board the folds over (like a super thin and ginormous briefcase) because cats. I like that when I am done for the day I can zip it up no stick it next to the couch.

My favorites have been Pomegranate, Buffalo and Galison - in that order. I also like Ravensburger, but haven't worked one recently.
I will be the dissenter on Dowdle puzzles. I picked up four recently at Costco. After I started the first one, I opted to return the other three. The quality is good as are the graphics, but I do not care for oddly shaped puzzle pieces. There are quite a few of those in the Dowdle I am currently working on. So be aware of that if you buy a Dowdle puzzle.

I thought it had once, but then I found the piece under my desk a week later. And I have just checked my Amazon orders, and I bought 17 Eurographics jigsaws in 2020 alone!

I have dozens of Springbok puzzles and really like that the pieces are not all essentially the same size and shape. I used to buy only that brand for my parents.
I got a gift certificate from puzzlewarehouse.com for Christmas, so I ordered some new-to-me brands, but have not done one of those yet.
You can also order directly from Springbok. The only issue is that both times I ordered I tried to use the credit card I like to use online, but the order wouldn’t go through until I switched to PayPal. With my first order I got an extra - a plastic bag with a mystery puzzle - no picture, so that could be interesting.
Both places shipped quickly and the puzzles arrived in good shape. They do have a lot that are out of stock at any given time, but I still found many I liked.

We just bought a puzzle board similar to the one linked above. It is fantastic! It is so nice to split up pieces that we are working on in the drawers and move the whole thing from the kitchen table with the great morning light to the family room when we need to eat a meal.
We just finished a map of the Grand Canyon puzzle. The hardest part was that the picture on the box was so small we could not use it as a reference.
My dd, dh, and I love to work on a good puzzle!

I have a couple of eeboo puzzles and they're nice - great quality. I like Galison and BetterCo. (highly recommend!) Right now I'm working on one that's a Jiggy for Anthropologie. It's nice and it comes packaged in a glass jar with a tube of glue and a spreader so you can frame it when you're finished.

eeBoo makes some beautiful puzzles! I got into jigsaws just a few months ago when my daughter fell in love with one of their images, and we did it together. The first one didn't have much variety in the shape of the pieces, but the other two we did later had much more interesting shaped pieces. The pieces aren't quite as thick as Galison or Springbok, but the quality is good. They have some images that are just stunning. I love their Tree of Life puzzle which I got as a present but haven't had time to start yet.
