I do put together different puzzles, but I only love the ravensburger puzzles. The pieces stay together and they’re different shapes. I do like doing puzzles where I cannot look at a picture and I have to put it together with my imagination. I cannot imagine putting together a puzzle that had letters on the back! It would feel like cheating. Our box did not have any directions and we figured it out.
However on the link that was posted to amazon selling a KAG puzzle, the directions say "first sort the puzzles into groups according to the letters on the back"
Apparently the manufacturer does not consider it cheating.
We usually look a the picture to help us along, but with the wooden puzzle and the "areas" indicated by the letters, we worked the entire puzzle without help from the photo. I thought that was certainly different.

Sorry! I didn't mean to say you were cheating. My kids think even looking at the picture when you put the puzzle together is cheating (it is not!) and it's probably engrained in me by now!!

I’ve been doing puzzles since March! Most of the time, I can do 1,000 pieces in a day!
I’ve bought from Amazon, Target, Barnes and Noble, and Facebook marketplace. Never spent more than $15 on any one and most were around $10.
My favorites are Buffalo games, galison, springbok, lego, white mountain, Vermont Christmas co. No particular order but I really love the Buffalo games ones. The pieces are really well made.
I’ve got a 2,000 and a 1,500 to do and 3 1,000 and then I’m out of puzzles again! Over the last 2 weeks, I’ve done 5.
I work them on my 35x70 Olfa cutting mat that lives on my pool table. While I sort edges and lay it all out, my almost 5 year old starts putting the edges together. He’s really getting good at it. We do lots of fish/sea life puzzles so he learns a bit about the names of the critters too,

Eurographics are probably my favourite manufacturer, I especially love the quirky pieces many of the 1000 piece puzzles have, and they have a huge range of images. Their Globetrotter and vintage posters are fabulous. I also love Ravensburger, Clementoni, Springbok and Jumbo. Lego has released a couple of 1000 piece images which are really good fun. Wow thanks lesley - how did I not know this?

We have enjoyed puzzles from cobble hill, white mountain, and a couple others I can't remember their companies. If we don't pick one up at HL, we usually order from calendars.com (which usually has a decent rakuten rebate).
Cobble hill usually have pieces that are the same size and general shape with enough of them being odd, different, or smaller to make spots challenging.

eeBoo and Pomegranate are my favorite puzzle brands. The eeBoo ones I have completed are not as you described though; the pieces are not all the same.
I am doing a Eurographics one right now and in that case, all of the pieces ARE exactly the same. Because of that and the image, it's one of the most difficult puzzles I've ever done.

Thanks to all of you! for starters I've ordered 3 of the round Eeboo puzzles from their website and some Springbok and one Galison, from Amazon, I think. I don't know... i had fun looking at a lot of puzzles on several sites. I don't remember all that I ordered. Lots of great suggestions here for future purchases. Much appreciated! seaexplore - I love all that you shared and am smiling picturing your 5yo sitting on the pool table working on the borders as you work alongside him. <3

My favourites are Ravensburger and Cobble Hill. The pieces are much sturdier than other brands. They also have really nice pictures. I also like Eurographics and Buffalo Games.

elaineI sure hope you like the puzzles and are not disappointed. I might have to order another one or two myself. DH said "no more puzzles" for awhile. 7 days of puzzle working, yes, it is time for a break.

My mom came up this weekend and was SHOCKED at how I just plunked the pieces in. I was working it upside down so that made it a little easier since I was looking at pattens and shapes and not trying to make sense of it.

My favorites have been Springbok, Ravensburger and White Mountain. I also love all the Disney Thomas Kinkade puzzles from Ceaco. Their quality is not quite as good but they are less expensive and they are easy to find at Walmart when you run in for other things.
Springbok puzzles are made in my hometown of Kansas City. Try their website at springbok-puzzles.com. They were the company that made Hallmark Puzzles and were in fact owned by Hallmark. Hallmark I think sold Springbok around 2003? I see the website is offering free shipping in the US for orders over $50. Sign up for the newsletter since they sometimes run great sales!
Another place to look for puzzles is at Hobby Lobby. They carry White Mountain, Springbok, Cobble Hill, Ravensburger and more. I just looked and they have a nice selection online. They also would take the 40% off coupon they always have online or in the paper. I was surprised at the different brands they carried.
