Anyone have favorite items they like from Schwans? We use them primarily for DH’s lunch options. Their single serve meals are reasonably priced when compared to the fast food he’d go out for if he didn’t bring this in. I’ve tried other frozen meals, but they just don’t compare. Right now our orders are the individual meals, doggie sundaes (George gets one after his walk every day, not spoiled at all our pup) and maybe some ice cream. I threw in a key lime pie at Christmas, which was new for us as I can make KLP and I refused to pay their price for it. However, in the interest of saving my time I bit the bullet and did it. It was fantastic, but only for special occasions. I’m looking for new ideas or things your family loves from there. We’ve tried a couple of their larger meals but no one really liked them. I know they can be pricey, but the older I get the more I’ve warmed to the idea that I’m willing to pay for a little convenience. Or maybe just convenient dessert

I gave all my neighbours their beef stick sausage and a local Sharp white Cheddar cheese for Christmas gifts and everyone loved them. I love the Beef Merlot but I dump it in my little crockpot and it smells wonderful. I love the single serve chilli, sweet and sour chicken and the 4 cheese lasangne

We had a truck coming every month, but now they have UPS delivering them? Really? What a change. I used to have the Schwan's man stop every two weeks. He knew my kids and would give them fudgesicles in the summer. Everyone knew him and really liked him. He retired and that is when I quite Schwans. It got to be a pain with a minimum order, pre-pay, etc. Then they no longer had the little lemonade concentrate in cartons (OH MAN SO GOOD!) ... I need to look again and see if there is anything that interests me. I never really bought any meals, but I liked their chicken nuggets and lemon pepper chicken breasts. I always bought a tub of vanilla every two weeks. Now the kids are flown and that ice cream would never get finished, much less in 2 weeks!

I usually dread when the Schwann's guy comes. We usually buy ice cream but I think it is so expensive for what you get But I feel bad telling him I don't want anything. There are a lot of things that look good but with our family size, we would need multiple of them to feed everyone, which would significantly add to the cost. I might take a look at their vegetables and a few other suggestions here since he is likely coming tomorrow.

I've only ever gotten a couple of things here and there. I had a great coupon code a few years back and I got some potato encrusted tilapia which was really good. I also got some garlic mashed potatoes. Those were fantastic!

Their pierogies, mini pizzas, peppermint ice cream are all very good. I like to warm their mini bow tie pasta & veg in the microwave & stir in some pesto for lunch a lot now that I'm home all the time.

We order regularly and here are our favorites:
hash browns green beans corn (NOT the one with butter sauce, though, yuck!) ancient grain encrusted cod triple berry blend singles pizza egg rolls roasted baby bakers
I still am missing the breaded green bean fries they used to have, they were even better than the PF Changs version! Also miss our old Schwan's delivery man, he delivered to us for a little over 20 years before he moved and was just the nicest guy!

I love the tomato soup! I get a container then break it down into individual servings and that's been a go to lunch option for me for awhile now.
Have to check out the egg rolls and pierogies.
the nugget bars look amazing, but I'm probably the only one who will eat them and that's dangerous.
I have not looked at their veg, will definitely check that out
Shel, what do you use the berries for?

We use the berries usually for smoothies, although also for a warm, thickened berry sauce (water, sugar & corn starch) for belgium waffles. Their fruit and veggies are the best quality, I've never found anything at the grocery store that is as good.

Wow. I had forgotten about Schwann. Do they still have the precooked burgers? We always liked the individual pizzas. He stopped coming years back because we were never home. I still see the truck, on Tuesdays, so maybe I’ll give it a try again.

I'm hungry now. 😅 I've had a few things since hubby works in the communication department for them. Pot stickers are good. My deep freezer clunked out when my basement flooded a few summers ago. I purposely haven't replaced it. Too dangerous for my back side. Lol. I'm going to have to try those nugit bars everybody is mentioning .

I miss Schwann’s. Ordered for years. Lost our driver and the new bitch ran over my mailbox and tried to say, while her truck was parked on it, that she didn’t. Had to call the police. Schwann’s was great paying to have it replaced but it was winter and I had to go to the post office for a few months to get my mail. Still not over that no matter how much I like the food and, especially, the ice cream!

This thread made me hungry so I went to the Schwan's website. They had a deal for free delivery. Awesome. Add several things to my cart (mostly breakfast since that's when I'm always in a hurry) and get to the checkout page and it won't give me free delivery. I now hate them for getting my hopes up.

I just got a promo email today (sad because my order arrives TODAY, so now I'm not eligible-I called and tried)
Order online and use JAN21 to get 20% off $100, 15% off $75 or 10% off $50 orders. It's good until 1/5 midnight.

We get a Schwan’s delivery every two weeks. Some favorites are the Fire Braised Pork, the Penne with Prosciutto, Pork Potstickers, Fried Rice (we add chicken and eggs), the Mini Bow Ties with Vegetables (add chicken broth and it makes awesome soup!), Garlic Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes and Homestyle Chicken Pie.
Delivery was yesterday and they announced the 20% off sale today so I placed order for two weeks from now to guarantee the pricing.

My favorite things from Schwan's are the fully cooked mini pot roasts with gravy, beef pot pies, black angus burgers, oven-baked breaded chicken breast fillets, and frozen root vegetable mix. Thanks for the heads up about the 20% deal ending today. I hadn't ordered in quite a while b/c we had too much in the freezer. This was a good time to re-stock on my mini pot roasts, pot pies, hamburgers, breaded chicken fillets (for easy chicken parm), pork chops, broccoli and a couple other things. I think I got 8 things, delivered for $115. Less than I spent at Walmart today when I went in with a list of 5 things and left with a lot more than that.

We love the chicken fingers and shrimp egg rolls. So yummy! My kids bed for the shrimp egg rolls which they have nicknamed shreg rolls.

I read this thread and just put an order in with them for the first time. Do they "bother" you between orders? I do not want someone ringing the bell asking me if I want to order anything. I just want my food when I want to order my food. How does this work?

I just want my food when I want to order my food. How does this work? My driver sends a reminder text the day before his next visit. I also get emails and texts with specials but no surprise visits. Well no surprise visits unless you count the fact that he shows up every other week whether I’ve placed a pre order or not. If your order is placed through the app by 11:00pm the day before then you earn points that convert to money off a future purchase. (**not sure if cutoff time is same for everyone and of app orders are the only ones that earn points).

Do they "bother" you between orders? I am sort of rural, so my guy does not just stop by. He only comes if I have place an order online. I do get text and email reminders about specials. I only order about once a month. I have switched up my delivery day here and there too. I am not on a set schedule, nor have they forced it. Hopefully it's the same for you!

I just want my food when I want to order my food. How does this work? Our guy only rings the bell on his delivery day - every 2 weeks. If we haven't ordered he'll ring and ask if we need anything. If we're not home or don't answer he leaves a sticky note saying hey I was here. Now we order every 2 weeks like clockwork so it may be because we're regulars. I think it also depends on your driver. Over Veterans day our regular guy didn't show up. I called, and they sent a new guy. He was nice but our dog (who is extra large) knows the truck and knows the guy has his ice cream. Therefore he was barking, and freaked the guy out. Our regular driver knows George and knows he's just wanting his ice cream.
