You were warned but yet you voted for him anyway. While I agree with that sentiment, I think those who voted for him in 2020 are far worse. In 2016 there were definite warnings that should have been heeded, but in 2020 it was blindingly clear that this vile man was unfit to be president in every single way imaginable. Those people are truly the ones to blame for this, they KNEW 100% what they were voting for and did it anyway.

I have MSNBC on and the banner at the bottom of the screen has flashed two messages.
First one - “National Guard fortifying DC and State Capitals.” In CA they put a 6 foot fence around the State Capital building.
Second one “Extreme right wants a race war.”
The catalyst to all this was trump and always has been, even before the election. The signs it could be this bad were there loud and clear before the election. To those who now claim they weren’t there or they didn’t think it would get this bad, phooey those who think that chose not to see what was there.
So once again I say to all those who chose to vote for trump and those who decided to stay home and those who voted third party in 2016 you are all responsible for this chaos.
Elections do have consequences and four years later we are still paying a heavy price for the 2016 election.

My friend who is Catholic, blue collar mechanic business owner voted for Trump in 2016, much to the dismay of his wife who is a contract worker for the military. I was having my engine rebuilt by him in March and we got to talking politics and he’s like nope, never again. He thought trump being a business man would be good for guys like him. Small business owner 2 employees. He’s like I regret my vote every day. And that was before Covid got bad. They have since left their church that was attached to our school because no one would follow Covid protocol. My DD graduated but I heard there was a mass exodus from the church and the school over Covid, trump, and BLM (teachers are racist there).

Sorry I’m not going to give anybody who voted for trump in 2016 a pass. Here’s why.. - When trump announced he was running for president in that tiny pink lobby at trump tower he trashed the folks coming across the Southern Border as rapist, murders & criminals. 🚩 #1
- The story was released his father was arrested at a KKK rally. 🚩 #2
- The trump organization was sued at least twice by the City of New York for discrimination against Black folks because they found ways not to rent apartments to them. 🚩 #3
- Stories came out that at trump’s casino that the rule was that when trump was due to arrive all Black employees had to be off the floor because he didn’t want to see them when he walked through the casino. 🚩 #4
- Many thought trump was a successful businessman but yet how truly successful is one that goes through at least 4 bankruptcies? 🚩 #5
- Stories came out that trump was stiffing the subs that worked on his projects. 🚩 #6
- During the primaries, he claimed the Iowa Caucus was stolen by Ted Cruz and there should be a do over. 🚩 #7
- Once he got the nomination and on more than one occasion he talked about the general election possibility being rigged against him. 🚩 #8
- During the third debate with Hillary, both were asked if they would concede the election if they lost. trump refused to say that he would 🚩 #9
- During the primaries it became clear that some of his supporters were white nationalist. And that number grew once he received the nomination 🚩 #10
- It became clear during the primaries and the general election the man was dumber than dirt. 🚩 #11
- Refused to release his tax returns even though presidential candidates had done so since Nixon.
There were more 🚩 warnings, these are just the ones I remember. These stories were out there and should have disqualified him from being president.
Let’s face it, the warnings above showed a racist who was failed businessman who stiffed small businesses that worked on his projects and was hiding something that has to do with his finances and believed if he lost, whatever it was, it was rigged against him. No one with this resume should have been elected president.
So no pass, the trump voters of 2016 are responsible for what is happening now, along with those who voted third party & those who stayed home and didn’t vote at all in 2016.

my poor son and his girlfriend. his girlfriend's parents are rabid trump supporters, even though her dad worked for the NSA for years. she can't talk politics to them and it hurts. my son and her are both very liberal. strong catholic family. she doesn't know where their morals went. only good thing is they live 3000 miles away.

Who do you think “We the People” are? It’s every American Citizen of this country. And part of our job/duty is to form the government we want to run this country whether it be on a national or local level. And we do this job/duty by voting in the people we feel would do the best job. And the way our two party system is set up, in the vast majority of elections, only one of two candidates will win. So if you want to do your job/duty, you vote for either candidate A or candidate B because only one of these two will win. So while you may not like them, in order to do your job/duty, you have to decide, knowing one of them will win, which one will do the best job and vote for that person. So those who decide to vote third party or stay home are not doing their job/duty for this country. Because it’s “We the People” who create the government by the people we elect. And you elect people by showing up to vote and voting for either Candidate A or Candidate B and yes it really is that simple. IMO. As far as your parents being Republican and Catholic as a reason for them always voting Republican , would they vote for a known serial killer if that person happened to be a Republican and Catholic who would work to overturn Roe v Wade instead of your basic Democrat? I swear these one issue voters are going to be the death of this country and I’m talking about both sides.
