It’s clear by the responses that this is a very cut and dry issue to many. For me it isn’t. I didn’t vote for him, but my parents did. Not because they are supporters but because they are Republicans, raised strict Catholics so they will never support a side that doesn’t uphold the fact abortion is wrong (to them). No one will ever convince them otherwise. They absolute decry the falsehoods and violence. Perhaps lay the blame on those who actually deserve it; the ones vocally fanning the flames with their untruths and inciting further violence, and those actually taking part. I won’t accept your blame either, since I voted third party in 2016 as neither Trump nor Hillary deserved my vote. I’m not looking to debate anyone about it, just stating it’s not as simple as you make it sound. “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”Good, I have no interest in debating this but you get to hear what I think about third party voters. Who do you think “We the People” are? It’s every American Citizen of this country. And part of our job/duty is to form the government we want to run this country whether it be on a national or local level. And we do this job/duty by voting in the people we feel would do the best job. And the way our two party system is set up, in the vast majority of elections, only one of two candidates will win. So if you want to do your job/duty, you vote for either candidate A or candidate B because only one of these two will win. So while you may not like them, in order to do your job/duty, you have to decide, knowing one of them will win, which one will do the best job and vote for that person. So those who decide to vote third party or stay home are not doing their job/duty for this country. Because it’s “We the People” who create the government by the people we elect. And you elect people by showing up to vote and voting for either Candidate A or Candidate B and yes it really is that simple. IMO. As far as your parents being Republican and Catholic as a reason for them always voting Republican , would they vote for a known serial killer if that person happened to be a Republican and Catholic who would work to overturn Roe v Wade instead of your basic Democrat? I swear these one issue voters are going to be the death of this country and I’m talking about both sides. My duty as a citizen is to vote, and if we were only a two party system there wouldn’t be other choices. 2016 was the only time I’ve ever chosen to vote that way, and frankly this election was definitely a lesser of two evils situation as well, but no way would I wouldn’t risk pulling a vote away from someone taking DT out of office. I would’ve never imagined in 2016 that he would’ve won.

Your parents and others who voted for Trump in 2016 may not like the violence. However, they voted for him, their votes helped to elect him and they and own that responsibility for his being in office.
Trump openly refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power in 2016. Many of the things that he’s done have not been a surprise or unexpected.
Also, I’m curious exactly how President elect Biden is evil? Especially now in comparison to Trump? Apples and oranges. Or maybe horseshoes and hand grenades. Not even close in comparison.

However, they voted for him, their votes helped to elect him and they and own that responsibility for his being in office. Trump openly refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power in 2016. Many of the things that he’s done have not been a surprise or unexpected. Also, I’m curious exactly how President elect Biden is evil? Especially now in comparison to Trump? Apples and oranges. Or maybe horseshoes and hand grenades. Not even close in comparison. My lesser of two evils comment was perhaps a poor choice of words for the fact that I didn’t think either was a great candidate. I voted for Biden because I didn’t want to vote for Trump.
