This is the front page of one of Germany’s newspapers this morning. I think they agree with your husband. I was harassed and bullied by a number of the right wing peas, before they left en masse, for comparing Trump to Hitler after he was elected. One of the iterations of the various troll creatures even photoshopped a picture of my head onto a picture of Hitler and used it in her avatar. But, you know, as someone on the Conservative Viewpoint thread said, “You can’t say that anyone saw this coming.” I wish I’d known. I’d have happily stood up for you. Thank you. I had to keep reporting posts, and then admin, I guess, made her change it. That anyone claims that this was a surprise has had their heads in the sand for over 4 years now. Trump has continually been encouraging violence from his supporters since he started campaigning in 2016. None of this was new. We are paying the price, as a nation, for the GOP politicians’ refusal to try to rein him in by publicly censuring him. They all tried to protect their own hides and power by simply ignoring him, hoping it would all just go away. Or they themselves, like Hawley, decided to capitalize on Trump’s lunatic base by catering to them. |

I have noticed that whenever Trump did something particularly bad, his supporters would post things about child trafficking. Okay, That is important every day. |

I would love to know what those followers will be saying now, now he’s denounced their actions and threatened them with “the law”. Did you watch the 10pm ITV news tonight gillyp? They interviewed four women who were there but according to them, left before the crowd entered the WH. It was unreal that they still thought he had nothing to do with it.The older one, maybe in her 60/70’s ( hard to tell as she’d had a bit of work done !! ) of the four was still maintaining that Biden had been living in the basement for the last two years and suffered with dementia! Watching that interview I’m convinced that many of them will never stop supporting him. |
