There is a lot of rumbling about removing him from office, by both sides. But is it all talk or will it happen?

I wish I thought that Congress and the Cabinet would decide to take their oaths of office seriously, but they won’t. They all will just make excuses hoping that it and Trump will all just go away.

Aside from the very few republicans who have spoken out prior to this, most of the rest of them are spineless boot licking Trumpweasels who won’t do a thing to stand in his way. Through the course of all this, they have really shown the whole world exactly who and what they are.

I don’t think logistically it can happen. The house has to take action first. Then they send it to the senate. There’s never any urgency with either.

I believe he should be removed from office, but sadly I don't think anyone has the balls to do it.

I thought he might resign and be pardoned by Pence, but after yesterday, I don't think Pence would cooperate.

I thought he might resign and be pardoned by Pence, but after yesterday, I don't think Pence would cooperate. CNN is reporting right now that Pence is upset that Trump seemed unconcerned about Pence and his family’s safety during the storming of the Capitol that he encouraged.

there has been this rumor for the past week or so
after a Scottish paper reported that an American military version of a Boeing 757 — sometimes used by Mr. Trump — was scheduled to land at a nearby airport on Jan. 19, the day before Joseph R. Biden Jr. is to be sworn in as president.
“We are not allowing people to come into Scotland,” Ms. Sturgeon told reporters in Edinburgh, “and that would apply to him just as it applies to anybody else — and coming in to play golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose.”
I don't know how long he has access to our planes, but perhaps Iran could pick him up?

Mitch McConnell’s wife - Elaine Chao - resigned from Trump’s cabinet, citing his behavior yesterday as the reason.

I would like to say no but I think he will. It's just too close. Shame - He deserves to go down in history as not completing his term.

I have pretty much lost faith in this country, so I think the Republicans will do nothing about it. The Republicans will be all talk and no action. No action like they were with covid.
My faith in this country may be restored as soon as President Biden is in office.

Sadly, I agree with everyone else. He should be driven out of office, but everyone will talk about it and nothing will happen.

I think many of the Republicans will forget about this in a few days. And will be back to praising Trump again (maybe not praising him by words but by lack of action). I hope I am wrong! But that party has done nothing but let me down the past four years, so I give them no credit for anything at this point. They have proven that they could care less about this country (supporting Trump, racists, and being maskholes/thinking covid is a hoax). I do have some hope for Romney, I would love to see him switch parties (I know that won't happen).

I think I read that, even after the events of yesterday, over half of the Republican house members voted not to certify electors last night. Disgusting.

From what I understand, it is possible, they could forego the witnesses and go straight to a vote basically. And if anything should be treated with urgency within the government, this is it.

Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats were willing to sit on their hands and wait for Mueller to do their job for them. They waited and waited and then when Mueller did not come through for them they took their time going forward. They had no problem dragging the whole thing out.
I just don't see them moving forward in a rapid manner now.

Sorry, I can see that it sounds that way from what I posted. I just wanted to point out the Republicans AND Democrats do not know how to move quickly or efficiently and will take any chance to procrastinate. They then cannot be blamed for either not doing anything or doing something that should not have been done. Slow action that does not get the job done in time caters to both the voters who feel nothing should be done AND voters who want something to be done.
It is frustrating when you believe something should be done and Congress moves so slowly that nothing gets done. They always have plenty of excuses and people to blame depending upon who they are talking to.
As you can see, I have no faith in our elected officials to do the right thing. Republicans and Democrats are both to blame.
