Yep. I have been trying to get rid of and/or not buy single purpose gadgets. I got rid of our egg slicer a while back.

s/o question - one of the ads I looked at said that you could make egg slices for sandwiches - has anyone ever made a sliced egg sandwich (I presume you would put eggs and salt at a minimum, possibly other stuff too). My step mom fries(frying pan and butter) sliced hard boiled eggs and puts them on buttered toast. I have done it a couple of times, added sliced avocado. Kind of delicious.... That sounds delicious! Thanks!

Yes. It is a dollar store egg slicer and I've had it for years and years. Why would anyone spend more than a dollar for an egg slicer? If it craps out you just get another one for a dollar. I second this! I've always just buy whatever's in the store next time I shop. Can't remember last time I replaced but that's what I do. We have egg salad a lot.

I had to go look to see what this crazy device could possibly be. I’ve never seen an egg slicer! I think I’ll make boiled eggs later, but any slicing will be done with a handy Henckels knife.

A pastry cutter works way better for chopping eggs for egg salad than an egg slicer. Other than that, I just use a knife. That’s what my Mom always used and what I use as well...works great.

I cleaned out my utensil drawer a few days ago and got rid of my old egg slicer. My mum bought me a new one recently that has three different slicers that all nest together in the base. One cuts the egg into halves, one into quarters, and one into slices. I have no idea what brand it is. Oh, it's pretty much the same as the one PolarGreen12 linked.

I have one like PolarGreen12 but I got it at IKEA years ago. I haven't used it in a while because I haven't been entertaining. For egg salad I'll just use a fork these days.

I sold Pampered Chef for a few years before having DS (he's 19 now) and I still have the one from my kit. It may have changed since, but the one I have, the wires are on a metal frame that pops out, so easy cleaning. It is fairly small sized as well. And has lasted me almost 20 years

I have a really old one from Pampered Chef that I got at least 22 years ago when I sold PC. I use it for my eggs, strawberries, mushrooms and grapes. Never had a single problem with it. Same. I love it for strawberries.

If you are using an egg slicer to make egg salad, toss it in the drawer and pull out a grater. I use the orange blade of this OXO Good Grips Set. Once you have grated eggs for your egg salad you will never go back to slicing. I also shred the eggs for egg salad, using the large side of my truly ancient flat shredder. I really think I bought it when I had my first apartment, which was damn near 50 years ago. I do have an egg slicer, too, but I don’t use it often. It’s also ancient.

I have had a couple of egg slicers over the years that eventually broke or got lost in a move.
