While browsing instagram last night, I was pondering how easy it would be to do an instagram-style December Daily album. Post one pic (or more) each day with a caption. Then, just have an instagram photobook printed. Has anyone seen/done anything similar?

Thanks, pamc! I actually just did a DD last year (and am still finishing up the embellishing), so I haven't planned to do one this year. However, the idea of the finished instagram photobook makes it tempting.

I try to do a DD album every year and I just get too busy to keep up with it. I also tried to do a December photo a day challenge and got to day 14 and just stopped. Maybe I'll try to commit to *just* the Instagram photo a day this year. Great idea for a little mini Instagram album! Simple.

I might do it in a WRMK instagram album so I can use up some of my holiday embellishments and add a little more journaling, but I think this would the simple enough to keep me on track. The only one I've finished is the 4x6 album Ali did a couple years ago. Simple works better for me.

It's the way I did my September 'Learn something new' book this year, except I used a WRMK album instead of getting it printed. Much easier for simple projects

Great idea. You can either print up an Instagram album or print the pics and make a December Daily whenever you have time. Thanks for sharing!

Can you use instagram if you don't have a smartphone? Can you download it to your computer? (stupid question, i know.)

I love this idea! I tried to do DD one year, but never got past day 3. I'm a smartphone newbie and just started using Instagram. I just snap my DD photos whenever the mood strikes, choose one or a few, and post them on Instagram each night! When I'm finished, I'll just print them out and put them into an album or I'll use a service to make a photo book. I started on December 1st and hope to make it to the end.
Join me! I'm tagging them #decemberdaily2014.

You could crop your photos to a square size or just print them and cut them to a square. Those instagram albums hold 4x4 photos, which is a nice size. There are also pages with 2x2 pockets on them. You could you an online photo editor if you're wanting to add filters or graphics to your pictures.

I did something similar for my 2012 DD album. I had all my photos uploaded to Shuttercal already, but I never got around to making my album. When it came time to make my 2013 DD album, I bought the prints from Shuttercal and made the 2012 album as I was getting ready to do 2013. The journaling is printed on the prints, so I killed two birds with one stone.

I believe it was Joanne's that I was at over the weekend. They had some Instagram photo albums along with the cameras and divided page protectors to fit into the little albums. They were pretty neat and would make an awesome (and easy) DD!

It's too hard for me to keep up with the every day, but I do take lots of photos and try to do the album after Christmas when things settle down.

I constantly use instagram to document my memory keeping. I started this year taking a pic every day in Dec, but haven't completely stuck to that. I'm not sure how I will make the finished product. I would probably just get prints then maybe stick in a 4x4 album or just add to my regularly scrapbooks. I don't do "december daily" exactly, I like the idea of it but don't really want a completed album. Instagram is a life saver for scrapbooking and now there are so many great photo editing apps, you could practically do everything in phone.
Check out Social Print Studio or Artifact Uprising for printing options.
