My items keep getting lost or not shipped! What is going on?
On Friday, I bought a silicon egg bite mold. Should have been here last night. Now when I look up the tracking, it says:
January 8, 2021, 1:16 pm
Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item
SPARROWS POINT, MD 21219
Shipping Partner: AMAZON
Your item departed a shipping partner facility at 1:16 pm on January 8, 2021 in SPARROWS POINT, MD 21219. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date.
January 7, 2021, 10:47 pm
Picked Up by Shipping Partner, USPS Awaiting Item
SPARROWS POINT, MD 21219
Shipping Partner: AMAZON
After Christmas, I purchased 3 apple watch bands - they got lost, and I had to reorder. The new package should have been here yesterday. When I looked up the order, the same verbage as the egg mold was on it. What does this mean? The first package was supposed to be delivered by UPS. Now I see they are both coming USPS. Is the mail still super jacked up? I guess I figured 3 weeks after Christmas, we'd be getting back on track?

USPS is still jacked up. When your tracking says the package is pending acceptance at the post office, it means the shipping partner dropped it at the post office and the post office scanned the manifest of what was in that dropoff, but they haven't yet scanned the actual package. I've had them sit in "acceptance pending" for over a week.
I've had a couple packages from other vendors shipped UPS SurePost, where they have the post office do the final delivery, and UPS has been doing final delivery on those themselves.

I've had a couple of things take weird routes and longer than expected through USPS. They are not all from Amazon.
Hopefully Biden will appoint a Postmaster General that knows what the f*** he/she is doing.

We still have 3 packages in the wind that were mailed in December. Two were mailed over a month ago. It’s beyond ridiculous.

My USPS carrier is retiring Friday. He's been training his replacement for his route. I gave him a retirement gift yesterday and joked that he was way to young to retire.
His response was that he was retiring before he was forced to. I said, Wow, that bad and the lady he was with nodded. She said in the 12 years that she's worked at the USPS inside Houston has never been like this. That the people that are making decisions aren't making the best decisions.
Makes me wonder about the people making decisions at the top.

All of our mail, letter size & packages, have taken much, much longer than usual. Both mail I've sent, and orders I've placed.
It's unreliable and frustrating.

We had that happen recently, too. I’m not sure what K’s going on.

I've had them sit in "acceptance pending" for over a week. I've had a couple packages from other vendors shipped UPS SurePost, where they have the post office do the final delivery, and UPS has been doing final delivery on those themselves. That isn't necessarily true. It means it hasn't arrived at USPS, or is still in transit to from the vendor. Just like an individual ebayer or the like can create a label to mail via the USPS, it's not in the USPS possession until it is brought to them, where it is immediately scanned. Most vendors and drop-shippers won't even leave their items until they've been accepted and scanned as such by the post office. Of course mistakes can be made, on both sides but in general no. Once a manifest is scanned "accepted" by the USPS all packages on said manifest reflect that, unless something has changed since I've left. But that wouldn't make sense. So in today's up is down, wrong is right world...maybe. (?) Also, SurePost is a whole nother cluster-mess. It's not thought out system in general. I never got, or rarely, my packages that way either. Having a po box as an address is a main deterrent to getting your packages that way. I was getting fine for a while until it was discovered that UPS was bypassing the agreed upon drop point and local drivers were instead drooping directly at local post office. Sounds good and efficient right? Except that way, the workshare program between the 2 carriers was financially benefitting only the UPS. USPS didn't get their cut. When pointed out and asked to enter into mailstream correctly, UPS instead returned (repeatedly and as a rule) all my and many other's SurePost packages. Rural areas especially. As a retired USPS worker who did much accepting and scanning from other carriers and vendors on the dock, I'm not saying the USPS isn't trouble (thanks trump and the newly appointed PMG) but just some further insight.

Amazon used to have great shipping, fast and pkg'd well. I guess they are contracting services out? I have had friends who are doing this, or their dh's. They get the product and ship it out. And some of that shipping just sucks!! I had crackers delivered to me in a freaking envelope. yea, there's nothing that can go wrong there right? and a small sample of a perfume in a padded envelope and part of the label fell off. I'm sure it's cost effective to farm out this work, but they need to step up their game.

I really dislike SurePost. I know it will add a couple of days to my delivery date. Usually for me, the delivery date turns out to be the day it ends up being delivered to USPS. Then add a couple of days for sorting and delivery.

I have an Amazon, UPS, USPSSure post package due today by 7pm.
Trouble is that even with UPS My choice I cannot track the package. Only when it is delivered. Used to get emails as my packages moved along and would tell me when package was delivered by Surepost. Now not so much. Also USPS will not scan it either. They used to!

FedEx. UPS. We have only been ordering items shipped by Amazon fully, or from vendors who either use FedEx or UPS, or are willing to upgrade our package to one of them. We have been offering and willing to pay for that upcharge. It has been working great. There is nothing we would buy if we don't want it to arrive reasonably promptly. What is the point of that? How do you know ahead of time which company will deliver your package? I usually don't find out how my package is being delivered until I complete my transaction. I've had items that have said they were fully shipped by Amazon still being handed off to the USPS.

I had a package accepted at a USPS facility in Indiana on December 7th. It may finally be being delivered today, 36 days later. We will see. It just disappeared in the tracking system three different times for at least a week.
The USPS is still having issues with holiday mail, apparently.

We had several packages lost with Amazon this holiday season. Mine were delivered by Amazon I had to cancel one and another I ended up waiting a few extra days and they found it again. Husband had one or two that disappeared but then showed up a few weeks later - I think those were USPS.
Usually we have great luck but this year I think they were just overwhelmed.
I hope everyone gets their packages.

I know the Indiana sorting facility was having major issues - I had a package that was shipped thru there and it was scanned as being there, and then it just sat and sat . . .until suddenly it was out for delivery (in Wisconsin) with no scans in between. I'd seen photos of the Indianapolis sorting center, and I don't know that I'd have been able to face going to work every morning, knowing that was what was waiting.

I ordered a package coming from Cape Cod by USPS on Dec 11. It sat in Atlanta for 2 1/2 weeks. Finally arrived in Niagara Falls on 1/8. Why it was sent there, I have no idea.
