I got an email from Pixels & Company that said they are making major changes to their website. Effective immediately, many of their designers are no longer selling product at Pixels & Company.
They are only left with 6 designers!
Does anyone have more info on this?
Below is the email I received:
----------------------------------------------------
Sometimes, we have to take a hard look at our lives, and see if we like where we are. And sometimes, the answer is no, and we make course corrections to get us back on track.
This is one of those times.
Beginning 11/28/14, Pixels and Company will be different, but oh-so-much better. We’ve gone back to the drawing board, gotten rid of old expectations, and completely rethought how we want to do things.
Unfortunately, the P&Co of the past is gone, and some of our designers will be pursuing a different course. We’ve enjoyed our time together, the friendships we made, and look forward to what we can all accomplish as we go our different ways.
What does this mean for you? The following designers will no longer be offering their products for sale at P&Co, and downloads for any previous purchases from them will only be available in our store through 11.30.14. Amanda Yi Designs - Anita’s Designs - creashens - Dawn by Design Digital Scrapbook Ingredients - Karla Dudley - Kelleigh Ratzlaff KimB’s Designs - Laura Passage - Mari Koegelenberg - Mommyish Sabrina’s Creations - Scotty Girl Design - Sugarplum Paperie Here's to the future!

I was just coming to see if anyone knew what on earth happened. I emailed a few of my favorite designers to be sure I'd find out where they were going to land, and got this answer from Nicole (of Sugarplum Paperie, I believe):
I'm sorry for the sudden disappearance from P&Co. last night. Our shops were turned off without our knowledge and without our permission!
I am currently working with all the girls who were kicked out of P&Co. to set up a beautiful new shop where we can sell our designs (without any drama!) and we should have a newsletter sign up ready to go today. I will most certainly have my own shop up and running in time for Black Friday sale.
If there is a particular kit that you had on your wishlist, please let me know. I will be sure to load it into my shop as soon as possible. Thank you! And sorry for the inconvenience. It was a surprise to us all.

Thanks for that. I signed up already, but the form is wonky and you might want to put the designers that are involved there on the sign-up page?

I got the email and then went to the site to get some of the things on my wish list AND the Scotty Girl journaling card package that I had bought on NDSD (I had email issues that delayed getting the code from her) only to find them all gone. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!! What is wrong with companies and this "Shut it down, shut it down NOW" mentality? I bet P&Co. would have had a nice influx of cash (not to mention some goodwill earned) if they gave people a couple weeks to get the items they wanted from those designers. I contacted them about honoring the discount code for the item I ordered on NDSD even though the designer is gone (and I emailed the designer to find out where she's going). I was a regular customer, but I'm not sure I want to shop there anymore.

Most recently, I saw on our local news: A Bridal Shop, took $ from a bride, then closed up shop the following day.

I wish I could offer more information and answer questions, but it just wouldn't be ethical to get into reasons behind the change. We will miss our old designers and wish them the best, but they are independent contractors, and not employees. Likewise, we did what we felt was the best course of action for our customers and business.
I can assure you that I communicated with everyone who contacted me, and I believe I acted ethically and honestly. Unfortunately, I can't give any more details than that.
ETA: I sent you a PM, emkayess2.

As soon as I got your email I replied, asking about recovering my wish list for those designers, but I didn't hear back. Off to check my Spam filter. ETA: Nothing in Spam. Earlier I was going to reply to the previous post which suggested it was unethical behavior on par with taking a deposit then closing without delivering the dress; I don't believe it's the same, as (ostensibly) everyone who paid for something got it in this case. My gripe is that it was not, in my opinion, the best outcome for customers who suddenly couldn't access wish lists, spend gift certificates on products from their favorite designers, etc. I know the reasons are none of my business, but it's hard to imagine circumstances that warranted doing this with no warning to customers.

I agree the customers should've been warned. Didn't 2 PS give plenty of warning? Until we know the real truth, we can decide to shop at P and Co or at other places. Of course, customers won't know the real truth. Does it really matter? Perhaps, paper is better. At least you know where you paper may be when they wake up in the morning.

michellegb did not get what she paid for as she had email issues and could not download immediately. orning. The original email (and Gennifer's subsequent communications) have indicated that downloads will be available through November 30. I feel certain that if michellegb has contacted Gennifer she will receive what she paid for. While this was shocking and perhaps not the best customer experience, I've always found Gennifer to be honest and above-board. My gripe was that my wishlist disappeared along with the designers' stores, and now I have to recreate it at the new store when it goes online. Nicole even offered to put anything I was wanting to purchase in the store first, but I'm unable to tell her what that might be.
