I heard about this yesterday on CNN and was just floored by all the evidence of their complicity. I sincerely hope that justice will prevail and that they will face federal sedition charges.

Someone posted this in another thread: That should cover removing them from Congress, as I can't see how this can be construed as anything other than a rebellion or insurrection. Then, they should be charged with treason. |

Please cut yourself a break. Unless you voted for Trump and actively supported his administration and his lies (either deliberately or in "good faith"), you are not complicit. WE ALL deserve the right to step away and take care of our mental health - you should feel no guilt for that. I think a lot of us are feeling like we should have done more. I know that I have felt that way, but when I step back and look at it objectively, I did everything that I was capable of doing within the confines of democracy and the law. I voted, contacted my representatives, and donated what I could to candidates that I believe in. There was nothing more that I as a private citizen could have done to change what has happened. |

Genuinely not surprised. I think that we have underplayed the rhetoric and tried not to think we were watching what we were watching.
The detail I am really fixated on is that when Ayanna Pressley went to her office, she discovered that the panic button had been removed. Not by the rioters.

Watched an Instagram video of AOC saying she was traumatized by an experience the day of the attack that she can’t divulge because of security concerns. She further stated that she felt very unsafe being with “white supremacist” members of Congress in the safe room they were led to—afraid they would divulge her location. She said Pressley actually left the room out of those same concerns. epeanymous, I so agree with your assessment in your first paragraph. There’s a part of me that cannot grasp that the violent attack on our Capitol is the same as all the violent attacks on governments around the world I’ve been watching my entire life. I had the childish belief the US was magically inoculated from all that. |

I literally shaking reading this thread. Mikie Sherell (D-NJ) brought up that she saw people being escorted by members of Congress in places they are not normally going. She has not named them publicaly, if she told authorities or not. Now the possible three complicit members, removal of panic buttons. Two Capital PD officers suspended, up to 17 being investIgating. Some PD officers reported for helping. Police and fire depts investigating their members? Military members and vets? AOC can't talk about what happened to her, assault?!?
I have forgotten all the other things, mind is ahead of finger here.
OH.. DOJ FBI said we will be shocked by what they are finding..
Hopefully enough to truly get dt and family..

Not that I'm saying this couldn't happen - literally nothing surprised me these days, sadly. But the only source for this story is this convicted felon crazy pants Trump supporter? No actual proof of this, other than him saying it, and one of the guys saying he doesn't think he's ever heard of or talked to him before?
Again, I'm not saying it's a false story, but it should be something easily verifiable, so I'd rather have at least one legitimate source to confirm this. Unless I missed it (I skimmed, to be fair, so that is possible!).

There is a “video message from Biggs, calling him (Alexander) a “friend” and “hero” and that was played at a large Stop the Steal rally. Alexander then tweeted that video and Trump himself retweeted it. Biggs never claimed it was a falsely manufactured video. Yet, now he is claiming to never have heard of him. Okay, then. |

Paul Gosar is the one where ALL his brothers and sisters did an ad against him as a candidate two years ago. Saying how bad he was. Sime of them were on CNN or was GMA3 earlier today. Talking about then and his possible involvement in the Capitol attack.. Not one said he would not do it!!!
