I can count on ONE FINGER the number of times I've sprayed mine with an oven cleaning product and actually scrubbed it out.
I've used the 'cleaning' cycle a couple of times though. Each time, I fear I'm going to burn the house down.
The rest of the time, I don't clean my oven.
And I'm not really even that sorry.

We're meant to clean the bloody things?? Truthfully I keep the top and door spotless but somehow always forget the inside. I'm not sorry in the least.

I only do it once every few years, and believe me w/the number of frozen pizzas we cook directly on the racks, thereby dripping cheese all over the place, it should be more frequently. I try to plan to do it when the weather is cool (like now, I suppose) so I can open the windows when my kitchen gets to be 830 degrees. Operative phrase being 'try to plan'.
I ONLY use the self cleaning feature on the oven. There is no way you'd catch me spraying & wiping!

Somehow, stuff has dripped in between the glass panels and it looks awful. I have no idea how to clean it. And if it involves removing something from the door (which it obviously would), forget it. Not happening.

I will not use the self-cleaning feature since we started a fire doing it. Fire department came and everything, and they said they get a LOT of calls about fires in self-cleaning ovens.
I use easy off, a mask (that stuff stinks!), and some elbow gloves.
But for the most part, I try not to even get it dirty. I use a drip pan in my oven to catch anything that my bubble over.

I do the self cleaning function during the day when someone will be home the entire time.

My current oven has never been cleaned yet (it's a year old). It has a "steam clean" feature and a regular clean feature. I guess I'm supposed to try the steam first, and if that doesn't work, the regular. I haven't manually cleaned an oven in over 20 yrs.
I've seen pins about how to clean between the glass. I do think it involves taking the door apart or at least off. Our old wall oven in our old house needs cleaned badly before we sell it so maybe I'll try it one of these days.

I've cleaned my oven maybe a few times since we moved here (7 years ago). The self clean smell makes me sick and I worry about the chance of fire. A few months ago I tried a pin using vinegar and baking soda and got a big fat fail. Not only did it not get everything, I had a haze in there that wouldn't wipe out for awhile. Oven cleaner works best for me but I don't use it very often because I worry about the fumes. These days I just wipe it out and vacuum out the crispies that collect at the bottom.

My door is beyond help. Somehow, stuff has dripped in between the glass panels and it looks awful. I have no idea how to clean it. And if it involves removing something from the door (which it obviously would), forget it. Not happening. That part isn't too hard. Most oven doors just lift right off. Open the door a couple inches, and lift it straight up. It will come right off the hinges. Lay it on the floor or a table or counter. There's a slot on the bottom edge of the door. I just stick a rag on the end of a ruler, and swipe it around the inside of the window. Then stick the door back in place. Nothing hard to take apart -- the door sits right on the hinges, it isn't screwed on or anything. As to the original question -- I never hand clean the oven with easy off. And I hate the self clean function. So mostly, the inside remains pretty dirty. I don't like stinkiness -- and both the chemicals and the smoking temps smell up my house too much.

I ONLY use the self-cleaning function... maybe two, three times a year. I vowed years ago, when I first got a self-cleaning one, that I'd never manually clean another dirty oven and I haven't. Best invention since sliced bread!

I use the self clean once every couple of months, depending on how much I've used the oven. I put the racks in a plastic bag with ammonia overnight and clean them too. I use ammonia and water to clean the door and use a Magic Eraser to get the baked on stuff. There's something I love about having my oven and stove look like new. I'm weird, I own it

Next morning I put on rubber gloves, grab a roll of paper towels and wipe it all out, then go over it with a cloth and some hot water.

i've never used the self-clean feature. does it really work? like, everything is burned away? there must be charred bits to wipe out then, right? you really don't have to scrub it?

I need to do that! We finally have a self cleaning oven. But I have no idea how to use that feature. And it would take longer to look for the instructions! So I will get Easy Off and get to work.
Never heard of using a drip pan. Great idea! Where do you find them. We lack storage in our kitchen, so I never pay attention to any "fun" gadgets and kitchen things to buy.

forgot to add, on teh models we've owned, you don't have to remove the oven door to clean between the glass. you just open or take out the appliance drawer and slide a spatula with a cloth on it, or something similar, up in the door slot.

Not happening. I used baking soda and water and made a paste. Put in on everywhere and let it sit for a bit. Then I used one of those small Pampered Chef scrapers and it literally came right off! No JOKE!

I also use the self-cleaning function, usually on a chilly Saturday when I'll be home and I want the house to be warm.

I use the self clean cycle maybe once a year. Probably should be more often but whatever. Absolute worst time I ever had with a self clean cycle was two houses ago when we moved to Abilene. We rented a house there and the day we got there the property manager was still cleaning up for us to move in because the last tenant didn't move out when she said she would. The house was apparently a wreck before we got there. Had a lot of garbage piled in the garage and mice had gotten inside the house. When the property manager turned on the self clean, it heated up a fresh mouse carcass in the wall behind the stove. That stink was other-worldly terrible. It stank for maybe the first month we were in the house whenever we used the oven. Awful. Do not recommend.

Given your recent "What do you regret about your divorce" thread, you're not going to like my answer, but I have never cleaned my oven, it's always been something DH does. Sorry.

Oh yes, it really works. Everything IS burned away and any bits or film left wipe right off. No, you really don't have to scrub it. If it's really filthy, you may have to set it for a longer cleaning period, but mine comes out looking like a brandsy-new oven every time. Love it!

I don't! The only time it has been cleaned is when the housekeeper cleaned it. I wasn't there so I don't know what she did.

Oh thank goodness there are still a few that spray and let sit overnight. I was beginning to feel like a real dinosaur. Spraying and wiping is just too easy for me and I do try to catch spills and clean as soon as they happen - not always easy with kids and a husband.

Yes, but take the racks out first. I left one in last time and I baked it into the oven. I was ultimately able to free it, but it wasn't easy.

One of my former coworkers never used her oven either. We teased her that she should dust it once in a while.
