Does anyone know how this works? Does the Secret Service just say goodbye to all of his terrible children at noon and take off? I can't wait until the perks stop for them.
I thought it was odd that their son wasn't with them. At least, odd by normal people standards.

Not being snarky, but this means the end of all the political posts, right? A girl can dream. Yes I scroll by.

I guess because it is in our faces everyday. And a lot of vitriol spills over to non-political threads. It would be nice to unblock a few peas. Like I said no big deal. I was thinking it may increase activity on this board .

I have no intention of just staying silent when Biden does things I don’t like/don’t agree with. I doubt I am the only one who feels this way here. 😉

Been waiting for this day for 4 years. What a great day! Feels like Christmas morning. I think it feels more like Easter, like America is being brought back from the dead!

But hopefully it will be the end of the daily barrage of nonsense and BS that we’ve been subjected to for the last four years. Hopefully the “political” posts in the future will be more about celebrating all of the good things that government can be and can do.

I was thinking it may increase activity on this board . I’ve gotten along just fine all these years not getting involved in political threads. There’s a lot more talk here than just politics. And. The day we stop talking about politics is the day democracy dies. Today is the beginning of a fresh start.

I have no doubt there will be things Biden does that I don't like. But I am looking forward to going back to a time when HOPEFULLY the things we won't like are the normal political things, not the Twitter storms, insults, name calling and making a complete mockery of our institutions.

I hope that people stay involved in paying attention to political happenings, and realize that it's not just 'them doing stuff' in Washington DC-- what they do there affects ALL of us.

For me, that is one good thing that has come out of the past 4 years. I pay way more attention to politics, and I don't see that ever changing. I can think of only a few times I have even voted in a primary, and that will change, too. Sad to say, there have been many years that the only time I voted at all was during a presidential election year. That will now change, too.
I have also watched my young adult kids become way more interested in the happenings than I ever was at their ages. My daughter came downstairs this morning and said "It feels like Christmas morning when I was a kid." When I was her age, I really had not much clue what was really happening in the world.

All 4 of my kids participated in BLM protests this past summer, and I was so proud of them. Nervous, but proud. I would never have had, and still don't have, the guts to do something like that. Thankfully, the ones they were part of were true, peaceful protests.

I was thinking it may increase activity on this board . The vitriol was a direct and equal response to the vengeful behavior your "great leader" and his followers. He's gone. So the ball is in your court now. More vitriol, or peace in discourse?

I'm curious why she chose to change into a dress made from my grandma's 1970s drapes... someone on twitter said 'it's the Ropers' from Three's Company; except for they actually loved each other. I'm thinking that Melania dresses how she *thinks* she should for the place she's going (remember the pith helmet and 'explorer-type' outfit from her trip to Africa?) so this must be what she thinks retired ladies in Florida wear. maybe she watched a lot of Golden Girls to prepare herself, lol. (and I think it looks a bit like one of the 'fake' Melanias, too.)

I block those that bug the crap out of me. He was not my "great leader" and the ball is not in my court. And this was kinda what I was talking about. Sorry I interrupted your thread. Carry on.

Your response is exactly what I am referring to, also. Cheers. In addition, (in reference to my previous post) there will always be assholes in every group, from every walk of life. We (general term to be clear) can only choose how we respond to them. I will make an effort to be better. (Ball in my court/your court etc...)

Is it just me, or has Melania never seemed happier? I don't think I have ever seen her smile so bigly. I mean, would you smile standing next to “that”. Lolol She probably smiled today thinking, “Thank god this fucker lost”

The vitriol you talk about is not because of political threads it’s the individuals who chose to react a certain way when they post on a thread, political and non political. In others if there was not one political thread on this board there would still be vitriol behavior you’re not a fan of.

That was enough. It is a dirty business based on power and money. From the top down to local offices.
