The vitriol you talk about is not because of political threads it’s the individuals who chose to react a certain way when they post on a thread, political and non political. In others if there was not one political thread on this board there would still be vitriol behavior you’re not a fan of. Agreed. I get being passionate about politics. I ran for public office once. That was enough. It is a dirty business based on power and money. From the top down to local offices. I could never, NEVER be in politics. Someone I know ran for a local office once and it was so corrupt. She didn’t win the seat and said she was glad. The amount money spent amd ass kissing would do me in.

It is so so nice to scroll through Facebook and not see every other post with a picture of Trump. Dang, I got sick of seeing his face.

Does anyone know how this works? Does the Secret Service just say goodbye to all of his terrible children at noon and take off? I can't wait until the perks stop for them. I thought it was odd that their son wasn't with them. At least, odd by normal people standards. Apparently Trump signed an executive order yesterday giving all of his children 6 more months of Secret Service protection. Source: CNN

I kind of feel sorry for trump. (Not really)
The reason, if he had not been banned from social media all during the events of today he would have been pounding away telling, those who would read it, his views of what was going on and every once in a while throwing in how he had won the election and by a lot.
But alas he had no way to communicate with his people so he had to sit at Mar a Lago and fume without an audience.

I think he was totally classless in how he handled defeat and treated Biden during the transition. But I am honestly so glad he was NOT at the inauguration and events after. His absence meant people could focus on moving forward and the messages of a decent normal President.

Let this shameful part of history be closed and never return again. We need to remember what happened though, because it could certainly happen again. And now onward and upward for the Biden administration! I'm praying for this to be day one of the rebuilding process for this country and happy and more prosperous days ahead for us all.

Not being snarky, but this means the end of all the political posts, right? A girl can dream. Yes I scroll by. Probably not. Some things will need to be discussed. I have no intention of just staying silent when Biden does things I don’t like/don’t agree with. I doubt I am the only one who feels this way here. 😉 Staying quite, ignoring, etc. allowed millions in this country to get radicalized as we say 2 weeks ago when several thousand of them rampaged into the Capitol. NO MORE QUIET NO MORE IGNORING. Those of you who don't like to talk politics - scroll on by. The rest of us are going to make sure those who care are aware!!

I’m just telling myself that it will be that much easier to have Ivanka and DTJ served with the SS tailing them everywhere.

I laughed at the fact that he still doesn't get what that song is about! He loves it for some reason and has been told he doesn't have the rights to play it at events.

He’s ruined the song Gloria dor me. My dad wanted to name Gloria and my mom hated that name so naturally I love it. Used to blast the song to piss her off.

I wonder how busy this office will be? What does this even mean? He can't establish office of anything when it comes to the government. So he's hired assistant(s) who cares?

I wonder how busy this office will be? "It’s not been easy. Tainted by Trump’s reputation, several Trump aides described an increasingly bleak job market with virtually no chance of landing jobs in corporate America and some even having seen promising leads disappear after the rampage at the U.S. Capitol. A second former White House official said they knew of “people who got jobs rescinded because of Jan. 6.” A Republican strategist was blunter. “They are really f---ed,” the strategist said, pointing to some top officials who stuck with Trump until the bitter end. “The Hill scramble, one of the few places where they’d be welcomed, already happened a month or so ago… They were told over and over to take their hand off the hot stove, and they didn’t want to listen.”... It’s a far different reality from where Trump and his aides had envisioned they would be. A month ago, everything seemed crystal clear: He had lost the 2020 election but would soon launch a juggernaut campaign for the presidency in 2024, and his allies and inner circle would be there to help. Now, the former president’s team is scampering away — willing to leave Washington, in some cases for red states like Texas and Florida, to increase their job prospects — while his own second act is clouded by uncertainty. One former senior administration official noted that many inside the White House were waiting until after the Electoral College votes were counted to begin their job search in earnest, so as not to step on messaging about Trump’s efforts to challenge the election results. But then, the riots on Capitol Hill upended their plans. " www.politico.com/news/2021/01/25/donald-trump-post-presidency-462018Womp womp.
