I found out my mother died in an elevator in Nova Scotia. From a woman on the same tour as me. Nice.

I am so sorry for your loss and for the family estrangement. Can you take some comfort from the fact that your father gave permission for the nurse to contact you, perhaps he may mellow sufficiently for you to go to the funeral, I do hope so. The tone of your post and your forgiving nature in asking for peace for you father really touched me.
