Just some thoughts that popped into my head...
- I can start using a capital P again when I post about President Biden or the USA President, my own little rebellion that I refused to use a capital P when referring to Trump - I feel sorry for comedians & late show hosts, their material has written itself for the last 4 years, they are going to have to start thinking again and working a whole lot harder to come up with political jokes, and with Trump off Twitter they won't even have that to fall back on. I often watch Stephen Colbert - poor guy is going to have nothing to start his show with. - same for cartoonists, they've had an easy ride for 4 years, it's gonna be tough to do caricatures of Biden - on the other hand American fashion designers must be wetting themselves with excitement, with two great women to dress now, same for magazines like Vogue...I bet they've already penciled in several cover shoots
and my last one after seeing the Clinton's at the ceremony, with Bill having trouble with his mask (it was almost over his eyes at one point)...I wish Hilary had won, I think he would have been a hoot as 'first gentleman'

I would have loved to see Bill handle the holiday decorations. But I’m secretly hoping that Doug will be in charge some day. I think he would make an excellent first gentleman and I would love to see how he would balance his Jewish heritage with the traditional decorating of the White House.

I have also refused to capitalise trump's name over the last few years, and I certainly didn't put the word President before it.

And yes, I have been wondering what the likes of Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah will talk about now, and also what John Pavlovitz will write about. They all have other material, sure, but trump has been their main topic of conversation.

I think that Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Boebert, and Taylor Greene will all provide plenty of fodder for the late night political comedian set. In fact, I think that they will long for the the return of Trump if only to take the spotlight off of themselves.

I had a little scare today watching some commentary after all the pomp when a reported said the president... And I immediately thought of rump only to catch myself and realise they were talking about Biden. It may take me a little bit to not cringe when I hear "the president... "

If I was arguing with someone in some comments cesspool I also was careful to say "President Obama" but just "trump". hahaha Yeah, petty but it made me feel good.

We've all been basically traumatized for the past four years...it's going to take some time to get over that.

I had to look up footage of Clinton. Too funny...when he was greeting Amanda Gorman it was almost covering his eyes.

They all have other material, sure, but trump has been their main topic of conversation. Both of these guys have mentioned several times that they are sick of talking bout Trump and will be glad to be able to talk about mundane, goofy, random things. They are welcoming Trump's absence. Seth Meyers is another one who talks about trump nightly and has been absolutely giddy this week.
