I’m sick of the people in my house saying “hey we need_____” when I am in the middle of something else Tuesday night and don’t go shopping until the weekend. Then they get cranky when I forget to buy it. I’m thinking Alexa and Siri are never too busy to add something to the list so if I could train the family to say “hey siri add....” instead of “hey mom/honey....” that would be nice.
I thought Cozi might be nice since they have some added features (incorporating a recipe box would be really helpful and if we ever get to have a social life again a calendar might be useful) and it works with Alexa but not Siri.

We just use a shared list in Reminders. It works with Siri, it’s on everyone’s devices and there’s zero learning curve. It’s doesn’t have the features of some dedicated grocery list apps, but everyone in my house will use it, and that matters the most.

I use Alexa. If my family complain about not having a particular food i just say ‘tell Alexa’. If they ask me to put something on the grocery list, I immediately tell Alexa to put it on the list so it’s obvious they could have done it themselves. It worked. I have no patience that crap.

I use Alexa. I have a shopping list, an Aldi list, a Trader Joe's list and sometimes Walmart. I know where I am getting what so I put it to the specific list. DH just says add to shopping list. Alexa is in the kitchen so it is a quick and easy add when I am in the midst of cooking. I then just pull out my phone and look at that list.

I'm with you, OP.
I do most of my grocery shopping online. I finally just gave them all the login to my grocery shopping cart and told them to start adding to my order.

We use Anylist. Both of us have it installed on our phones so either one can add something to any of the shared lists or take anything off when it’s purchased.
ETA: We have lists for all the stores we usually go to, so there is no excuse to forget to pick up batteries at Costco or a furnace filter at the hardware store. We also have running lists for things we need to bring to our lake cabin or things we need to do. Supposedly there is a way to add things to the lists with Siri but I haven’t figured out how to do it yet.

We also use AnyList. We both have it, and have the main grocery list and a couple of others synced. It also has a recipe feature, and allows you to import recipes from websites as well as adding them manually. You can use this to generate shopping lists. There is also a menu planner, though we don’t use that.

I use Alexa. Also, "I'm about to go to the grocery store. This is your last chance to tell me what you want."

We use Any!ist. It works on my iPhone & DH’s Samsung. We have it set up with Alexa. Everyone very quickly embraced saying “Alexa add ___ to the grocery list.” We also have a list for Schwans & Trader Joe’s.
I have AnyList organized for each list/store. So as I’m going through the store my list is in order.

I use Alexa. I no longer feel like my husband’s secretary when it comes to making a grocery list.

I use Keep (by Google) on my phone. If I can't get to it, I'll tell Alexa, then update my Keep later. I need to see if I can add Keep to Alexa skills. That would be helpful.

We use OurGroceries. All of us have them on our phones and it keeps a consolidated list. We can all add to it.

I use Out of Milk. You can share the list with people so they can add, but I don't do that. If they don't tell me they need something, they don't get it. My family is famous for telling me they need something right when I get home from the store. If I shared the list I'd have stuff like "boobs" on it - that's the maturity level in my house, and we're all adults. I keep my dinner list, TJ's, Costco, Albertson's, mid-week, etc. lists. Easy to copy or move items to different lists. I also like that I can log in on my PC or laptop when generating my weekly list - just easier typing it in that way.

We use Alexa. I tried a bunch of other apps but if he has to type anything, he will not use it. He is an auditory person and remembers what someone says while I am visual and remember nothing unless I see it written down, Alexa is the only thing that works for both of us.
He just adds everything to the main (default?) Shopping List and I will go through it and move them to the right list (depending on where I am going shopping).

Ha ha, this happens at my house too. Only I write my lists on a piece of paper, and the additions are often things that the cats would like. Sorry guys, I'm not picking up a pound of mouse tails!

I use Alexa and so does the rest of my family. I can yell at it when I run out of something so I don't have to remember. I have a Fred Meyer list and a Costco list. If my husband goes shopping without me he knows to get the stuff on the list plus whatever he went to pick up.

We use OurGroceries and set up list sharing - one person can add something and it syncs to all devices.
We use the app to add things to the list from our android/ios phones. I've never tried to add things by voice from my phone so don't have a clue if that is possible.
It does work by voice with Alexa if you enable the OurGroceries skill. The command is then "Alexa, ask OurGroceries to add ____."
ETA: I was curious about the Siri thing so I looked up the user guide:

We use Out of Milk. Have been for a few years. Everyone in the family knows what to do. Works with menu planning and recipes.
