I’m tired of huge albums. I’m seriously running out of space to store them. Does anyone else scrap 9x12? Do you like it.? One disadvantage is I would have to get my page protectors online, but then again I haven’t been able to find the ones I like in 12x12 lately at any of my local stores. I think I’m going to do it. If I hate it I can switch back next year.

I still do 12x12 for my pocket pages, but I have a lot of 9x12 for traditional layouts. I really enjoy both sizes, but have come to prefer the 9x12 for traditional layouts because 12x12 is just so big.
This might be a silly question, but if you're worried about storage space I'm not sure how 9x12 is going to help? 9x12 and 12x12 albums have an identical sized spine so they take up the same amount of space on a bookshelf. However, since a 9x12 album holds less content because it's shorter (so not as deep in the bookshelf) you might actually end up with more albums in the long run to hold the same amount of content.

I switched to 9x12 last year and it worked great for me. I fit a year in one album easily, but it was an abnormally boring year for us like most everyone. It did take a little getting used to the new pp layouts coming from mostly design A in 12x12. Keep in mind that if you don’t like 9x12 once you get going, you could always switch over to 12x12 and put the smaller pages in the larger album.

I love 9x12, but I don’t do pocket pages, just traditional. The new albums from scrapbook.com are amazing and the pp are great, they have lots of different pocket styles too.

Completely agreed with this and this was my thought as soon as I read the OP. I find 9x12 just as bulky as 12x12 and they take up the same space in my storage.

As someone looking to finally move a ton of old pics into actual albums, I'm going to stick with 12 x 12 to maximize the number of photos I can fit in each page. I do love the 9 x 12 size because I feel it's a lot easier to handle but it's just not the most practical size for what I need to get done right now.

I switched to 9x12 and love it. I use it for mixed layouts and pocket pages. I am making 1 or 2 albums per year excluding vacations and December Daily. I used 1 picture per layout even when I did 12x12 so using 12x12 does not save me the amount of pictures. The shorter albums fit better on the shelves. Like previously posted, you can try and see if it works for you and if not, you can switch back.

I only have one month under my belt as a monthly 9x12 user, but I enjoyed that first month. I looked over my photos for those that best told the story of the month (and any awesome photos that had to be included even if there wasn’t much of a story) and it worked great! I used a mix of page protectors to fit the photos I had and added a 6x8 to include some extras. Overall, it was fewer photos than doing weekly PL in a 12x12 and the album felt so much more manageable.
