You guys are always so good with ideas for gifts and things. After searching Pinterest I got the idea of asking the peas when I couldn't find good ideas from Pinterest. My husband and I will be married for 10 years next Thursday. We always said we would plan a vacation for our tenth and here it is a week before and we haven't planned anything. So do the peas have any last minute gift ideas or jump in the car last minute vacation ideas (we live in Kansas)?

How about just going to a local hotel for a weekend get away? Some of our best mini vacations were just going to the nearest big town and sleeping in, going to movies, shopping and eating at restaurants we always wanted to try.

which part of KS? For my husband's 50th birthday I took him to Arbor Day Lodge in Nebraska City, NE. It doesn't sound glamorous but that place is amazingly beautiful. We did a wine tasting, bought a couple bottles and then took them to the restaurant on site (which I would call a 4 star), had an amazing meal, sat out on the balcony and overlooked the orchards, drank more wine.... lol. The whole place is a big lodge/cabin. Very nice there. If you're in Western KS it might be a haul, but still worth it.

DH and I went to Dublin for our 10th.
Check with the airlines. sometimes they are great deals on last minute flights if all the seats are not yet sold.

hmm, From Wichita... Why not come up to KC for the weekend and go to one of the casinos or spend the weekend in an awesome hotel at the Plaza or crown center. the plaza is an awesome shopping district and the Nelson Art Gallery is close. it is free admission ( you pay to park though) and it a beautiful place to visit. Near crown center, it is like a shopping mall, but with unique shops and there is a new Aquarium there ( and lego discover center too!) The famous and beautiful Union station is also close to crown center and so is the Liberty Memorial / National World war 1 Museum. Even if you dont visit the Museum, Still go and see The Liberty Memorial Monument. the Views from there of KC are Beautiful! I am sure there are MANY other things I can come up with to do here! And if nothing else, So Visit the new IKEA while you are here! Are you familiar with kansas city at all?? If not, let me know. I can get you some more info and links! ( any of the things above you if you the name of the place, followed by Kansas City. You will find links to their websites!) Happy Anniversary to you and your hubs!

Thanks bwife for the ideas. We actually talked about just heading to KC. I was there a couple of weeks ago to visit my sister who lives a couple blocks away from the plaza. And we did make it to IKEA too! I've already got a list for the next time we head there I think I will probably look into a hotel in KC and maybe doing some things we haven't done before

Ten is tin/aluminum. Whatever gift you give him, wrap it in aluminum foil. As far as tin, do either of you golf? Ya know, tin cup? You could get a bucket at a driving range. Can you go to the places you went when you dated? The place he proposed? Revisit some memories & recreate pictures you took from years ago?

DH surprised me with a trip to DisneyWorld for our tenth, totally out of the blue. We had no kids at the time, DH isn't a ride guy and we still had a blast!
