I signed up for Brandi's Extravagant Hope mailing.
I received my 1st one last week and its quite simply, the best thing that I have bought in a long time. I'm one of those folks that as a kid used to cut the coupons off cereal boxes & jam jars, just so I could receive mail. There is something special about getting old fashioned snail mail and whilst this isn't exactly like receiving a letter from a friend, it's pretty close.
The mailing was jam packed with items that a paper loving person will drool over. Contents included:
1. A letter from Brandi
2. A printed 3 by 4 mix-card, printed with an old fashioned image of a cassette - on the back are the tracks >>> this is my favourite item. I haven't had someone make me a mix tape, since my 20's. This brought back so many happy memories - of making them and sharing them with friends & listening on my walkman! I've been listening to the tracks on Spotify while I work, while I make dinner & at bed time. I hoping one is included every month.
3. An EH laminated official card - kind of like an old blockbuster video card
4. Some stickers - this months were red love hearts. For documenting the hope in our hearts & or course valentines day!
5. 1 x 6 by 4 card - similar to this.
The quote was " You've done more than you think - it all matters" - which is oh so timely. I've started to stress that the end of the pandemic will come and I'll be disappointed in myself that I didn't do more. That I wasted this precious time, watching.....well mostly Netfliks.....On my to do list is to make a quilt & learn French and establish an exercise routine.....all of which, I have yet to do and its been 9 months! So I'm going to write a letter to myself about the things I have done vs focus on what I haven't.
6. Sealed envelope labelled "good words for later" - I'm not sure when to open, but maybe when I'm having a really bad day???
7. 3 x 3 by 4 library index cards - each with a book recommendation, quotes & I think are Brandi's thoughts on why she selected the book - I like this a lot, as I'm always looking for book recommendations
8. EH sticker - in Brandi's vintage/classic colors
9. 3 x 4 by 6 postcards - with images/quotes/florals
10. 1 x a glossy sticker sheet with floral stamp images
11. 1 x 3 by 4 Question card, with detachable floral question mark sticker
12. 2 x 5 by 7 quote cards
The quality is similar to Elise's Feed Your Craft cards. So highly rich saturated colours, with a satin/glossy finish. Some of the items, like the letter & postcards are regular paper or matte cardstock - which is great, since the glossy finish does not take well to ink.
Not only did my heart need this - I really miss seeing my friends and getting Brandi's letter is as close as I'm going to get to having GF time. It's also inspired me to make a dedicated EH album, that I might also turn into my PL for the year, since my life is on repeat. I also really enjoyed making my DD (although its still WIP), but I want another themed album - that is not OLW or WIL or DITL - as those don't appeal to me . I'm not doing PL this year - so I like the idea that these mailings can give me structure & interspersed will be what we watched/baked/games we played and noteworthy news.
Anyways - if you haven't heard about this and want to know more go check out Brandi's IG or here

Looks like she has no spots left for this month, but I think she opens up more from her latest IG post.
I am not affiliated in anyway - I'm just a long term fan of Brandi from when she was on AE's DT
