I just saw a video for Pops of Color. They are at sb.com and look like the older version of Nuvo Drops (Liquid Pearls). Did anyone else see them? I am too invested in Nuvo Drops to change, but was wondering why they seem to be just repeating an old product with very basic colors and the drops seemed to have peaks on them instead of turning more enamel dots.

I could have written this myself. I’m curious to try a bottle just to see how the formula compares to Nuvo Drops. I have all but four colors of Drops so I don’t see myself buying many of these colors unless they are remarkably different. I too noticed the peaks. It looks like they’re all the pearl finish except for clear and black. That’s unfortunate as the gloss Crystal Drops are hands down my favorite finish. I may pick up the red bottle to try. Nuvo doesn’t have a true red (I’m looking at you, Red Berry.) nor a true green yet. However it looks like there might be a true green coming in Trend 2 this year. Fingers crossed!

I saw that video too but I’m sticking to Nuvo drops for now. In the video The Pops of Color looked like they left a ‘peak’ after they dried but it was hard to tell by the way they showed the examples. I wonder if scrapbook.com is dropping nuvo drops from their store now that they have the Pops of Color. Their selection of drops is really limited and has been for quite awhile. ETA. I experimented with making my own custom color of Nuvo drops with mica powder and I was able to get just the shade of purple I needed. I have a lot of mica and perfect pearls powders so I may just buy the Nuvo in crystal and white from now on. I used the clear and I’m going to try using the white with ink refills.
