I took it apart @stitch and there were no tags but I did find this hidden in the base.

I received my Valentine's bouquet!! I planted the bug for my husband but he bought it and had a nice message sent. I love the purples. The only thing I didn't know is that the Waroo shawl is two sizes. There is a small size and a large size. I would prefer to make the large because I tend to crochet tightly. And I'm unclear whether the bouquet has enough yarn to do so. The skeins are untagged so I'm not sure if the yardage. I have sent a message to Jimmy Beans this morning inquiring. If I don't have enough I will order another skein. Wow, that's gorgeous. I would think there's at least 400m in those hanks, if they're 100g that is.

If that's what's included in this bouquet, then it should be plenty for the large shawl. I'll just have to do a bit of planning on how to use 3 colors instead of 4. But I'm sure I can pull that off.

I have just finished up another little cardigan for my DGD. Only one problem - it needs buttons and I don’t have any suitable buttons on hand and all the button shops are shut and I can’t find anything suitable online. It may well get sent off with instructions to her mum, who can sew and has access to button shops. Love the stripes! sueg this is precious!

I'll be finishing up two quilts I started in January. They just need to be quilted and bound. The Disappearing Four Patch was fun and quick to piece. The other quilt is a Missouri Star Quilt Company pattern called Into the Woods. They did it in red, black and white but I've been wanting to make a wintery quilt in these softer colors and this pattern was calling my name. My helper approves. So beautiful!

Beautiful projects! Thank you to each of you for sharing them. It’s so motivating. I got more organizing done in January than quilt projects done but that is OK. I had hoped to be more involved in these threads too, but there is always this month, right? LOL On my wall: this charity quilt. I hope to get it all sewn together this weekend. I was gifted a very large stash of squares and came up with this quilt. I have enough squares for two more. I like it!

DEX my dog has her very own crochet blanket made by me! I finished the gifts section on my Christmas blanket. If you remember I'm going a bit out of order now as it wasn't pleasing to my eye as written. 2 more sections to go! So beautiful! I love this.

I second this! I love their choice of colors for baby blankets. I’ve made some of them, and the directions are good too. I’ve been distracted from crafting by my new found love of playing Animal Crossing, but I have made a start on a Sophie’s Universe blanket: As always, I love looking at all your beautiful works. You know we have noticed before that we pick a lot of the same projects....well, I started Sophie's Universe last year, I put it down to do the Queen Cal. I love the bright colours and I had enough in my stash to put a kit together, the same kit as you!! Extra bonus is that I bought the book and it uses the same colourway so it's easy to work exactly which round you are on. I'm at the end of part one, the blue just before the squaring up begins. If you come across other great projects be sure to share, I'm sure I'll love them! We do have excellent taste, don’t we? I’ve got a Queen kit waiting for me when I finish the Sophie. I also have this one: www.lillabjorncrochet.com/2019/04/stained-glass-crochet-wonder-blanket.html

We have so many talented Peas, I am loving all the pics of what everyone is working on! I can do paper crafts but am all thumbs when it comes to fabric and yarn 😂 Since the pandemic, I finally started taking watercolor lessons like I always wanted to, with a local well established artist who I’ve known for years. She closed her studio due to COVID, so switched to an online format, which is working out pretty well for her since students aren’t limited by location anymore! And just for fun, since I can’t knit or crochet, here’s a beautiful lap blanket my grandmother just made for me... she is almost 99 years old! She’s been keeping busy during the pandemic, shaking down various family members for yarn! 😂 (“You’d better pick some yarn out for that blanket or you’ll lose your spot in line”). She’s the best! Happy crafting, everyone!

Can I get some advice on my hexagon blanket please? I'm going to be crocheting them together but I have no idea what colour yarn to use, does any one have any suggestions?

I think pretty much anything from the darker green or blue palettes would go and provide you with an adult, toning blanket or cream would give a younger looking colour way. Is it for yourself or a gift?

It took me almost as long to post this photo as it did to make this quilt! My poor dh had a hard time posing on this blustery day. This is all from scraps.

Is it for yourself or a gift? I think it's going to be for the husband to snuggle under on the sofa, I'm using leftovers so I'm hoping I can get it a decent size. I think cream would be good

I just love this. It's so perfect for winter. The colors and the big snowflake. and I love how the snowflake is offset. Well done!

colleen, the photo turned out really fun like in a magazine. Love your quilt. Cupcake, wow, what a special treasure from your grandmother. LOVE it! And your paintings are awesome. You will have to share her online site.

So... I've been working on the temp quilt for my DD. Progress has been made. Pattern has been redone a few times. I have to add a border because I THOUGHT my HST would finish at 4.5" but they're finishing at 4" instead so... yeah. Enter border. Here's where you all come in.... I can't decide if I should add the border with a solid black fabric (I have some Kona and will need to get more) or with the swirl fabric in black that I used on the rest of the quilt (need to get more). Also, should I do it in strips (will have to sew yardage together because I'm not about to buy 88" worth just to cut 4 4.5" wide strips!) or cut squares, sew together to keep the seams all the way out to the edges? The "month" blocks are done and ready to go to my friend to machine embroider the months/year on them. I need to do my temperature scale- waiting on her to le me know if she wants me to sew it all together in a strip or if that's too much for her machine to move around. It's going to be 88" long when I sew all the pieces so... yeah. Anyway... pics of progress made.

seaexplore - I always like a dark border around a quilt it's like a frame where your eye can stop. I love how you planned that quilt.

I'll leave the color questions to others. Our resident quilters will probably know better than I. But wow! seaexplore I really like the way it is coming along.

seaexplore - I always like a dark border around a quilt it's like a frame where your eye can stop. I love how you planned that quilt. Thanks! It's for sure getting a black border. Just to decide the fabric- same as the quilt fabric or different. If I do different, I think it's more of a break- like a mat almost- and I like that idea but I don't know if it will look odd. The binding will be strips made up of the left over yardage (which I have a TON of since I had to purchase 1 yd min even of colors I needed one 5.5" strip of). I'm going to use the left overs in 9" (or whatever size the HST in a block of 4 is) chunks mixed in with 4 HST blocks because I like randomness. Might sew together rectangles to get the size I need if I can't make them work. I'll be cutting my DD's name and location out of whatever I do the border with to raw edge appliqué on the back.

Trying to figure out how to do large chunks of it while the parts are being embroidered. I'm not sure how long it will take my friend to do them. She's charging me pennies for it so she'll be getting a very nice tip.

To answer your second question, I would sew the strips together so that I had four border strips long enough for each side of the quilt. I would not sew the border on in a way that would continue the quilt block seam all the way to the edge. I think of quilt borders as picture frames.
