I have never made a pocket scrapbook in my life but am thinking of doing one now for a special project. My big question: do you ever put embellishments, like chipboard letters for an example, on the outside of the pockets? Or should everything I add fit into a pocket so it’ll be better protected?

I've only ever put them on the inside. I suppose you could put them on the outside with a strong enough glue.

I do sometimes stick embellishments on the outside. It creates a nice layered effect.

I put them on the outside sometimes. I just use a lot of adhesive!

Like everyone else said, make sure you use a strong adhesive. I've put things on the outside of the pocket and used red line tape or something similar and it is still stuck to the plastic page.

I have not yet, but there are people on the internet that do that. I think I’ve seen Ali Edwards do it.
The reason I hesitate is that I’m pretty sure I’ll get it caught when changing pages

I do put bulky items in the outside so the pocket doesn’t bulge up. I havent had issues with mine yet.

Thanks everyone for letting me know that it’s an option. I’ve pretty much decided to go ahead and give pocket scrapbooking a try and i figure that I might need to stick things on the outside sometimes. And refugeepea thank you for showing me a perfect example.
