Welcome to the weekend everyone, and to day 6 of our February challenges! This month I will be hosting Sketchy Saturday. I will be posting a double page sketch, a 12x12 sketch based on the double pager, and also a TN sketch for ComplicatedLady and kellyr21 and anyone else if they'd prefer to use that. The twist is to use mixed media of some kind (ink, paint, mist etc) in at least two different colours, and then some kind of embellishment in those same two colours. In my sample layouts I used several different colours of paint splatters, and matching Nuvo dots. This sketch is from PageMaps June 2020:
And here is my layout:
Here is a 12x12 sketch I made from the original:
And my layout:
And here is the TN sketch based off the original. I haven't done a sample layout for this one, as it's not a size that I scrap in. I hope that you can all find something in one of the sketches to inspire you. Have fun!

I love your 2 pager so much AussieMeg! I think my favorite details are the dot edging on the backgrounds and the spatter treatment behind the photos. You always choose a fantastic kit to bring out the best in your photos. You really have a way with color!
I'm going to be using the one-page option to go along as a companion to a page I made a few days ago. I have 3 photos that are the same sizes and orientations. It'll be perfect. Thanks for the sketch!

Here is my sketch layout. It turned out to be a good sketch for these photos. I only had the two, so monkeys are filling the extra space.

Perfect way to use this sketch, jjpeapea! Love how you have the giraffe as a photo border and those monkeys make a fun space filler! Love just the strip of zebra pp with the plain background. If I ever get to the city to see my dgk's again (come on, vaccine!!!), I think I will force them to come to the zoo with me so I can scrap some pages with all my zoo papers...

I'm glad you only had two photos, because otherwise I would have missed out on those cute monkeys! I love all the other animals too. Fabulous page! There's love for you in the gallery grammadee. I have to say, I thought for sure that you'd do the double page sketch!

So when sleep is elusive and you have a few photos that are can be scrapped . . . you look up a 2Peas challenge, started at 2:47 am my time, back to bed just before 5 am and slept aonther 2.5 hours thankfully! Journaling and sticking down occured at a reasonable hour 9-9:20
All paper was scraps from MME Black Bird except the outermost frame, I had to cut into a new sheet to make the layer. Scrapbook.com Pet sentiments, Quickutz heart, naked chipboard covered to make the 3rd photo.

There's love for you in the gallery grammadee . I have to say, I thought for sure that you'd do the double page sketch! I DID do two pages, but couldn't get my photos to work with the sketch for the second page. Just went ahead and did a kind of simple grid. I posted it in the sharing thread with its companion page today.

AussieMeg great sketch! That’s just the kind of sketch I go to all the time! I love both of your takes on it. Your use of color is really catching my eye lately! jjpeapea such a cute giraffe and great placement grammadee love the color! angel97701 cute pumpkin paper! Here’s my take- painted and glittered the chipboard letters and then used glitter gems and white photo corners.

This was such a great jumping off place! I used it 100% for the matting and paper strip suggestions, and the circular/rectangular embellishment areas. Originally, I did use a 2nd small photo as well, but it looked better without. love the pond and these happy days by kirstendrew, on Flickr

aww very sweet justjac. Somewhere in a pocket page album I have photos of the afghans my gramma made. I said sleeping under them was like a warm hug from her.

Perfect title, justjac. Love all the pic's of the blankets, and of their being used to provide cozy comfort. And you got to use purple! I am loving seeing all the different interpretations of this very versatile sketch.

jjpeapea, I love the use of those cute monkeys to fill your spot. I love that tall giraffe overlooking the fun. Your paper pieced elephant is a cute touch too. Your title with leaves and the zebra stripes round this out perfectly. Very cute. schroema, I love the big negative SNOW letters. It looks like you made some pretty snowflakes. That's always a favorite activity. I love, love, love your die cut of the Reindeer. Is he Sven from Frozen. Alex walked in and saw it on my screen and asked if I could cut him a Sven! Fun pages. justjac, I can't read the journaling on your page. Are you the quilter and stitcher? What beautiful, warm beds you have...and you need them in your temps! I love the blues and purples and your title couldn't be better. Lovely! grammadee, angel97701, msliz, and AussieMeg, I left love in the gallery. kitbop, I left love in the gallery and have to tell you that once I saw your use of the sketch, I quit stewing about what I was trying to do and used yours for inspiration too. Thanks. Worldwide Pandemic - Brock

nylene I am not the quilter or stitcher. My mom made me the quilt, my sister knit me the purple afghan, and Dean’s grandma made him the navy one.
