WM Black Friday is insane! Last year I had a man steal 2 ps3 games out of my cart and when I said "wth are you doing" he said for me to "what are you going to do about it" Year before that DH was off and went with me...2 men got into a physical fist fight over a Xbox...blood and everything ugh it sucked because DH wasn't on duty but stepped in and then he was tied up with that and it runined us being able to shop. Then you have people pulling the plastic off early on the pallets and getting stuff which causes fights. I cannot believe a man would treat a woman like that and be so bold as to take something out of your cart. Please tell me you let out a shriek and got the games back? I would have followed him to the register sobbing dramatically and asked for a manager. Honestly I am one to speak up but right then this man REALLY intimidated me and I just let him have them. They weren't paid for I had just put them in my cart in the part where you sit a purse or kid. I also wasn't the only one it happened to...a few other people said they had stuff missing. The way WM has it set up its like all the movies/games are in these cardboard displays near the meat dept and once stuff it gone its gone. Kinda sucked because they were for DH for Christmas and saving a extra $40 total may not sound like a lot for most but it is for us.

If it was the Saint Clair Wal-Mart you were probably better off letting him have the game anyhow. They get a little violent there. I go to the Hometown Wal-Mart it's a little more civil there.

Wouldn't that technically be considered loitering? I know the stores around here have no loitering signs up.
I went shopping black Friday once. Once. I have never had a desire to do that ever again.

And my family used to laugh at me and my Fred Meyer sock sale every year. Of course now they all give me their sock list And now one of my sisters likes to go with me, so it's all fun for us. And that is just about the only store I hit on BF any more. I can always tell it is close to thanksgiving because my sock supply is running low! I love my half price socks and pj's! i go out on BF with my mom, and we used to go with my Gramma, and it is just a fun tradition for us. We do get some good deals, but we don't wait in line, just go a few minutes after the store opens and just go get out items, we have never missed out an anything we wanted, and we just have fun. I agree those women probably just want their 15 minutes, but even though it is their choice it is kind of sad. Even switching off with people, I can't imagine their time is worth so little. Yes, that is exactly how I do it now. No lines and I just enjoy going to the one store. And for some reason I really like the FM orange juice

This is local to me. This isn't their first rodeo. They have done this for several years now. Must be nice to be able to take 3 weeks off from work or family or life or all 3 to just sit and wait. Okay, so maybe this is the booze talking (I was at book club tonight and there was more drinking than book discussion happening LOL) but how do they go to the bathroom? I mean, I am old with a bladder the size of a tiny pea and if I even look at a glass of water I have to go. What do they after the store closes??

This Best Buy is in the same shopping center as WalMart, but I am not sure if it is 24 hours or not. There is also a gas station across the street, and a few drive trus.
Eta: the super wm is indeed 24 hrs

I did ONE Black Friday Best Buy event. Me, my DD and her DH set up camp early Thanksgiving evening. We were like 8th in line.
I did not expect to enjoy it, but I totally did. The people in line with us were so fun and we had a blast. One couple had come in their RV and not only allowed us to use their bathroom, they also provided coffee and snacks.
I'll never do it again - it's gotten too crazy - but that one time will forever be a favorite memory.

People would buy hot chocolate and coffee for people and food. It just was a whole different atmosphere than WalMart LOL!

Do they realize manufactures make these "cheap" electronics cheap just for BF sales? I know someone in the industry who has said never buy BF electronics because they are cheap for a reason. You'll get a better deal after the holidays when they are rolling in the latest & greatest.

Sounds like they just want to be on the news. Or maybe their time isn't worth much. Do they know Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away? If they have that much free time, maybe they could get a part time job for a couple weeks (temp agency) and be able to afford the regular price.
I can see waiting in line a day or so, especially if you are camped out with friends and that is part of the fun. But this far ahead sounds like they are trying to get attention. But then they wouldn't be all over the news.....

How much do you want to bet that Best Buy is paying them to sit out there to hype up their sales? I seriously doubt they would do this on their own.

That is exactly what he has said.

Amazon's lightning deals have sucked so have. All jewelry and clothes. I was just saying the same exact thing to DH yesterday. The deals have been BLAH! Hope they pick up closer to Thanksgiving.

I just don't get it. I love going shopping the day after Thanksgiving, the time with my Mom & sister is so much fun...but we really just have a couple of things we want to hurry and grab, then we are there to eat and chat. Waiting in a tent outside for days...not fun. LOL! I think even if it was an amazing deal, I still wouldn't do it. To each there own, but I'm not fighting anyone for a TV or game system.

I don't need anything that bad that I would be willing to give up 2 weeks of my life standing in line for.

It's not something I would ever do, but then I work so I couldn't anyways. I don't need anything that badly..
I do plan on going to Target thanksgiving day but don't plan on standing in line. If the stuff I want is gone, it's not a big deal.

I worked too many years of retail to avoid the horrors of shopping on Black Friday. I DON'T miss it! I do it all online now!

Krispy Kreme opened a new store near me a few months ago. The first so many people through the door at grand opening got a free box of donuts per week for a year. People were camped out in the parking lot in tents in 100 degree weather for several days just for freaking donuts.

My dd and I go BF shopping and we love it. I love spending time with her just the 2 of us and she loves picking out all of the clothes she will get for Christmas. We shop for clothes, shoes, and sometimes video games for my dh but it is fun not stressful. We have met some wonderful people in line. One year we were in line to check out at JCPenney and I had to use the bathroom so bad, I can't go alone (for medical reasons) so the sweet lady behind us heard my dd and I talking about setting our stuff down and just getting back in line and she told us not to worry about a thing. Just go and do our business and she will hold our space. We asked the next few people behind her and they all agreed. I know it sounds silly but that really meant a lot to me. I noticed she was buying several scented candles and she had said she couldn't find this certain scent, I saw one on our way to the restroom and grabbed it. I gave it to her after we checked out and she was so surprised.
I have never and will never camp out though, that is just crazy!
