My healthy-eating sister-in-law gave me a package of farro. What? Who? It’s like being set up on a blind grain date. She reports she eats it with black beans and seasonings that I already can’t remember. If you eat farro, please share any recommendations - cooking tips, add ins, accompaniments, seasonings. Yes, I could Google but rabbit holes are so deep and treacherous now. I’d rather you guys school me.

delish - don't need to do much. it's got a lot of flavor. but you can use it w/soups, stews, stir fry, etc.

Both these recipes look delicious. I will have to try them! My husband eats farro a lot, and he always adds beans (mostly kidney beans). I love putting it in soups.

Put it in a salad-spinach, mandarin oranges, feta, pepitas. Super good

I make Ina Garten’s Brown Rice and Wheatberries. It is wonderful, hearty, full of protein, and farro could easily be substituted for the wheatberries. Just adjust the cooking time, as farro cooks quicker. I add a sprig of thyme and have made it with pine nuts and pecans. Both are delicious!

One of my favorite, easy things to make is mixing farro with arugula, dressing it with lemon vinaigrette and topping it off with some shaved parm- yum!

Thank you, all. Great ideas. Looking forward to my blind partially-sighted grain date.

I would use it in soups, in place of or as well as barley. This is one of my favourite salad recipes. The recipe calls for freekeh, but you could use farro instead or as well: Hellenic Republic’s Cypriot grain salad
