S/O: old stuff you purged and regret

I had the opportunity to buy stickers on the roll for 25 cents each when an LSS was closing. I bought all kinds of stickers that I paired with paper and sold them at scrapbook yard sales to get money to buy other people's stuff. I wish I had a whole lot of that paper and those stickers, especially the big Disney ones and Sesame Street. Some of the stickers I bought for 25 cents had cost 2 or 3 dollars each back then.

I also set my cousin up with everything she needed to scrapbook, and now she doesn't.  I wish I had access to all the paper and stuff I gave her.  It would be old stash now, but I would love to go through it and 'shop.'  Maybe next time I see her I will ask but she doesn't live ner me.

That is what pops into my mind right now.

There are a few old Stampin'Up stamp sets that I wish I hadn't sold or given away. Every once in a while I want to use them, but then I remember that I don't have them anymore. It's OK, though, because I have lots of other stamps to choose from. I just hope they are making someone else happy now.

I regret getting rid of my "Baby Bug" or small Cricut. DH bought it for me and I had it decorated really cute with vinyl cut outs and my name, etc..I decided I HAD to have the big cutter but I really couldn't afford it, so I sold the little one to help purchase the big one. As my crafting has evolved over the years, I can see that I didn't really need the huge cutter (as the Joy is calling my name, but no freaking way, too expensive) and the Baby would have done me just fine. I know I could re buy it, but I don't really want someone else's, I just want mine back.

More that that though-I want all my books (hundreds) that Marie "No Joy-Just Tears" Kondo convinced me I had to get rid of. It's like I just dumped 100's of friends off at the GoodWill and can't remember who they were. I think I grossly underestimated how much my books meant to me and how much they were connected to certain parts of my life.

I regret purging my Quickutz handle and my Sizzix sidekick.

When I moved up from the red Sizzix machine, I was SO excited to have one die cutting machine that would do it all.

But those little tools made it so quick and easy.

I am still purging supplies that I've had since I started scrapbooking in 1997, so am trying to be honest with myself about what I will really use.

The only regret I have so far is purging some CM albums and page protectors, since I find the 12x12 ring bound albums to be too large to handle, and I want to finish a couple of 12x12 projects (Disney, vacation, etc) but put them in strap hinge or post bound albums. I am moving to 6x8 and 9x12 albums for new and everyday projects, so will be purging 12x12 ring bound and pp soon ( I hope I don't regret that )

steakgoddess, I have my QK handle on my purge pile, but now am having second thoughts....Why do you miss yours??

Not much. The only thing that comes to mind is some fugly paper that I should have saved to used the back which was white. I reach for that a lot. Otherwise I feel better about not having too much stuff that isn’t being used regularly.

i had the original bright green cuttlebug.  i had no problem with it.  i never intended on selling it.  then someone listed the newer model at a steal so i bought it and sold the older one.  i regret selling it now because the newer one doesn't seem as solid and sturdy.  the footprint is just slightly bigger too.  so, if you guys have the original bright green cuttlebug, keep it! it was so much better.

i casually keep my eyes peeled for the old style.  if i see it at a good deal, i'm going to get it just in case the newer one starts to fall apaprt (which i have a feeling it might).

After a few years, the spring in my handle wore out. I upgraded to the original Revolution (ETA: made by QuicKutz, not WeR). That's been a great machine for me. 

I have a Cricut Maker and the Joy. I've had the Maker for several years after I upgraded from the Explore Air but I find that I don't use it at all now I have the small machine. I bought the Joy mostly because of FOMO but it sits happily on my desk 100% of the time and when I need a die cut I don't have, I just knock one out. I used to do a lot of vinyl and HTV work but I got over that and now just make cards so the Joy is perfect for it. If you do find one on sale or second hand and decide to pull the trigger, I think you may find it a really useful addition to your crafting. You don't need the Access subscription as you can upload most everything you want directly to Design Space.
I worry that if I sell my Maker, I will regret it and although I'm sure a newer one will come out eventually, it's still their flagship model at the moment. I won't bother upgrading as all its new bells and whistles were a disappointment compared to what the Explore models could do.

I made the mistake of getting rid of my CM little blue trimmer. Don’t know what I was thinking. Happily, that’s my only regret, but that may be because I have kept too much!

My original Perfect Layers cutting set. I bought it in 2003-2004 from QVC. Never used it and finally gave it away. Then I started scrapping with a friend who had it loved it. I ended up re-buying it. Now it's one of my most used tools.

ETA - I just pulled out my QuickKutz and I'm still glad it's in my purge pile  :-)

I usually don’t regret the purged items but I do regret purging my fiber. I had a ton of it and now i can think of some uses for it. Of course it’s not popular so you can’t by it in sets now.

I joined this thread to post about that little blue trimmer!  I’ve wished over and over that I still had it.  I don’t know why I thought it had to go.
