The 90s are to today’s kids, what the 60s were to me. That hurts. I saw a meme that pointed out that if there was a show today similar to the Wonder Years in terms of distance from its subject matter, it would be set in 2001. 😲

The way the underside of my chin is looking is a wake up call. Yes! And try peeking at yourself in the mirror when you are blow drying your hair with your head leaning over to one side. My face looks like a Salvador Dali painting.

I realized how old I am when peabay said that the cutie in her avatar was now driving. I also realized how old I am when my son turned 40.

The sheer energy and time it takes to get my joints moving. And it's no longer just when I get out of bed. It's anytime I stand up now. I shuffle like a penguin for a while.
Also, my oldest kid is turning 30 this year. How did THAT happen? I still feel about 35 in my head, so the math just doesn't add up.

i saw a subaru commercial for the sporty staton wagon that had a violent femmes song...wtf?? Noooooo.....say it ain't so! I lift my glasses up and down for different things. Reading a book? Glasses on top of head. Glasses come back down for other stuff. I am NOT getting bifocals until I absolutely have to.

How did THAT happen? I still feel about 35 in my head, so the math just doesn't add up. isn't this the strangest thing? When I was little, I asked my Grandma what it was like to be old. (She was probably somewhere in her 70s at that time...) Her answer was "I don't feel old; I feel like I always have" and I could not understand that, at all. But NOW, I understand it perfectly.

I remember when my grandfather was dying, he kept looking at his hands and saying "These aren't my hands, these are old man hands." It was so sad. I was a teenager at the time and didn't really comprehend what he meant. Now I understand all too well.

I've felt all of the above and then some. But when American Girl introduced the Courtney, new Historical girl of year, I had 2 DDs who took offense to that ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) . My DH and I just laughed. We have 5 grandsons, 5-16 and a 14 yo granddaughter. If we had a younger granddaughter, Santa would have bought the doll for our DDs to "share" and leave at our house.

I often find myself going to bed at the same time I used to leave the house to go out on the weekend.

I make an involuntary grunting noise when I get up off the floor It’s not *really* bad though until the involuntary noises are farts! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/pd7N3dneptLj3pbgz5Gd.jpg) OMG, I remember taking my mom to the store with me in her later years and she would just nonchalantly let them rip as she was walking along, not a care in the world. Me on the other hand walking with her? I was mortified!

Hearing The Beatles on the Walmart Muzak (does that term also make me old?) makes my shopping trip bearable....and yes, I sing along behind my mask.

Yes to the music of my days now being elevator music.
Also on music, when a remake becomes popular and the “kids” don’t even know it is a remake!
Fashion is not as important anymore. I am all about comfort.

When I realized that my youngest is old enough to be a grandmother. I realized that I am probably the oldest person playing Conan Exiles on xbox I told the doctor that I worried about waiting for a particular surgery because soon they might hesitate to do it due to my age. He told me it was too late and they have to worry about it now.

When I realized that next year I’ll have to tick the box for the next older age category when I do an online survey. 😱
And LOL, yeah, the “oldies” station is now playing music from my high school days. I can’t believe that the “oldies” music from my youth was popular sixty years ago!

Whole Foods plays the greatest hits from my high school years in-store. omg Whole Foods started playing Vacation by the Go Go’s yesterday and it was so hard not to completely dance in the aisle (as I grabbed my kombucha 😆)

When ds20 recently was going on about this oldie song that he just loves. A-ha Take on Me!
I told him to tread carefully with statements like that. 😉

I'm so old that I never wore skinny jeans. (not really but I didn't care for them so I skipped that trend)
Recently my teen met a woman who went to her high school. She said "oh I graduated from there way way way back in 2010." Dh and I got a good laugh out of that.

Seeing my wedding dishes (everyday) in the thrift store with a sign proclaiming them "vintage" was a rude awakening. I mean 1977 was just yesterday after all! I'm horrified by how old people who say they are my age look. I cannot possibly look that old. ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) I've made that comment to DH a few times lately. Bless his heart, he tells me I don't look as old as the others our age do, but I know the truth - and it hurts!

I was going to link the one that showed the guy making the noise sitting down! Thanks for saving me the trouble, lol. I LOVE these commercials, and had to watch each one again just now. Loved the extra ending on the one, where the guy is hunting and pecking his phone with his index finger, and Dr. Rick reminds him, “Remember, use your thumbs.” Um, I use my index. ‘Nuff said.
