Just thought I would share, I ordered new postage stamps (love how USPS charges a small processing fee, lol, aren't the stamps just THERE?) but I digress...anyway it is awfully nice just to have them come in the mail. I really love these! You can't tell from the picture online but they are really bright and the "crown" is foiled. I am super pleased with these stamps-very cool. (I also ordered the hip hop ones, and some nature ones) store.usps.com/store/product/buy-stamps/lunar-new-year-year-of-the-ox-S_480104

Thanks for sharing! I love fun stamps...only problem is that then I start trying to determine if a card/piece of mail is "worthy" of said stamp and I have a hard time using up the last of the stamps b/c I want to keep them! It's a real problem...

I love ordering postage directly from usps! Although I agree that you'd think the shipping would be free, at least they only charge a couple of bucks even if you order a LOT of stamps (and sometimes I do). I try to choose stamps based on who the mail is for, and yes, sometimes have a hard time using some of them because they're too cool. But once you start ordering stamps online they send you the catalog so you can enjoy the designs in there or cut out the designs to save in an ephemera notebook (maybe I'm the only person who does that!) I have also considered using them as stickers in my scrapbooks - would you pay 55c for a sticker? if so, using a postage stamp isn't too crazy. Or maybe it is! ;P The Lunar New Year's series is a big deal - 12 years of stamps in each series. The ox is the 2nd one. The artwork is actually a 3D mask that was photographed for the stamps. A first for them I believe. I read about it when the artist was hired last year. Here's some more info on the artist and her work. www.risd.edu/news/stories/grad-student-creates-artwork-for-usps-stamp/

All the beautiful masks are amazing! I worked in South Korea for a time and they have beautiful masks as well! I love having specialty stamps to put on cards and I too got the catalog from the USPS! A friend sent me a card with a Queen Elizabeth and John Lennon stamp on it! I kept them and put them inside the card! Great info ladies!

I love those -stamps - thank you, missed them. Some Etsy sellers sell unused older or vintage USPS stamps and I buy them sometimes. Prices can be reasonable - though more than the original worth - or way over the top - so searching can unearth better prices. I wanted one set that was quadruple its value but found it for just a bit over the value.
