Hot flashes in a cool space!
I am typically a cold person. My hands and feet are always cold. Someone in my office has issues with heat (asthma is exacerbated) and so I’m only really ever warm if she is off/out of the building (and i can turn the central thermostat up) or if I keep my office door shut (which I tend not to do as I’m an open door type.)
Hot flashes have once again hit me with a vengeance so I am literally sweating buckets one minute and then the flash retreats and I’m left chilled to the bone because of the dampness. The last time I had flashes I got them under control with a supplement so hoping they work again this time.

That sounds awful! I hope the supplement is able to get the hot flashes under control again.
I would hate to be cold at work. You're very considerate to keep the heat down for the other person. Could you get some kind of small heater to keep under your desk? In the old building we used to be in, some areas were hot, and people had fans, and other areas were cold, and people had heaters. It was ridiculous that they couldn't get the air con working correctly throughout the whole office.

I'm always cold at work and I hate it. About half of us wear jackets and the other half bitches constantly about how hot it is. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground and it's been like this at every hospital I've ever worked at.
I have a hand warmer and long socks and a T-shirt under my scrub top with a fleece lined jacket. Every now and then I do actually get warm, like when bathing a patient or don't something else physically demanding, but it doesn't last long.

Mine where unbearable, I had 20 to 40 a day but nothing at night, I take hormones, it’s a little patch and life is good again.

I hear night sweats are a real treat. They are a true joy. LOL Before night sweats/hot flashes, I was prone to chills. Not just "hey I'm chilly" but full on, body shaking teeth chattering, chills. I'd roll over in bed at night and get a breeze up my back and a chill would hit. Just the thought of moving to tighten the blankets around me would set off another round of chills. The rest of the night would be spent half asleep either sweating buckets or re-chilling. Horrible. Now hot flashes/night sweats have set in. And I get hot so I kick the covers off. If I happen to fall back asleep without a blanket on my arms? Cue the thought of a chill because bare skin is in the air. AAAGGGHHH

I just cannot regulate my temperature anymore. I'm constantly bundling up or kicking blankets off, and that's just in my recliner watching TV. Nighttime is the worst. Even in winter I wear a very light nightgown so I can cool down quickly. But then I freeze. Back and forth and back and forth. But if I try to just wear something warmer, I roast all night and can't sleep. It's annoying.

I just had my "hysterversary" (9 years) and I'm STILL going thru hot/cold spells day and night, even tho I'm still on a low dose of estrogen. Unreal. I'll get SO hot, sweaty and then because we have a/c on (FL), I get chilled to the bone and tell DH that I feel like I'm sitting on a pile of freezing snow. I'll pile on the blankets until I get warm. I can't regulate my body temperature. Ugh!!
Have you had your blood checked? I recently checked my estrogen levels and my thyroid levels ( since I am hypothyroid now), and they're level enough, but I can't stand not being able to be at a normal temp. My daughter continues to sing, "You're hot and your cold....... You're in and you're out..." Ugh! Hope you get some answers. Wear layers of clothes.
ETA: Just read that most people here refer to the 'night sweats', but mine immediately began round the clock and they're much more mild with estrogen, but they continue to be around the clock. I carry layers of sweaters, jackets, etc., put socks on, blankets, layers of clothes when I'm at home, and I'm frozen to the bone. When I warm up, I get all red and too hot. 9 years later, this is annoying!!!!!!!!

My menopause hot flashes and night sweats have been bad.
For me, the worst thing ever was the perimenopausal "floods" >> random hemorrhaging. Never knew when it would happen. Flooding, leaking, gushing, huge clots, etc... It was random period insanity! So glad that phase is over.

Before I started getting hot flushes, I thought they were literally just what the name suggests: being very hot suddenly for a short but intensely uncomfortable time. But with me, I spend 90% of my time freezing to the point where my nose hurts, my centre shivers and my very bones ache with cold. The other 9.9% of the time I'm burning up. The remaining 0.1% is those glorious few seconds where I can feel the blood flowing, thawing out and relaxing those tensed-up muscles, bring the feeling back to my feet and fingers and my poor nose, before the furnace hits.
Nights are horrible with the additional dampness and disturbed sleep. I can't wait for this to end.

I've started getting hot flashes too. And honestly I have to go outside in the cold. I'm sorry about the sweat chilling but I'm burning up so bad I can't stand it.
And my office (I'm working from home right now) is always ridiculously hot. I hate it. It will be the middle of January and in wearing a sleeveless dress. I don't even put my summer dresses away anymore. I just add a sweater and go. And then when I get to work I take my sweater off until I go outside again.

Sorry to hear there are so many of us in this group. As mentioned above I also get to the point of shivering with the damp cold. Even walking down the hallway at work generates s skin freezing breeze lol. I have extra heaters in my office but again that’s a love/hate relationship lol! I start out with pyjamas on at night but even before falling asleep I’ve usually shed them. They hold the moisture. Neisey, Would it be okay to ask which supplement has helped ? I could do with something to try myself. I had read here about black cohosh and when I went to my local GNC to check the 19 year old young man at the counter lol told me his aunt takes Menosmart. On his recommendation I tried it and after a month my hot flashes were almost non-existent during the day, occasional during the night. I didn’t buy another container once that was finished and went a good year managing the few flashes. Now, with this onslaught I’m taking them again. I’ve been going 6-8 months between periods but just had 2 in a row so think my hormones are working against me! I hope this might help some of you. Please research though...black cohosh may not be for everyone.

I feel so much for both of you. I'm the same. Most of the time I'm freezing cold. Inside the house I wear fleece pants, a long underwear long sleeved shirt with a fleece jacket over it and Ugg boots. This is what I wear almost year around except for maybe in August. I've also been experiencing hot flashes for years-close to 10 years. The supplement my Integrative Medicine doctor recommended to me to help with them is Evening Primrose Oil. The brand that works most effectively for me is called Jarrow Formulas. I order it online and if I remember to take it consistently and to reorder it when I run out, my hot flashes are pretty well controlled. But sometimes I forget both of those things and they come back with a flourish. After a few days to a week of taking the Evening Primrose Oil they go away again. This is the only medication I've ever used for hot flashes or for menopause. I decided not to take any kind of hormonal supplements. I also have hypothyroid. I’ve started sleeping with separate covers than DH. We’ve always used a heated blanket, used to love that thing. Just the weight of it, not even on, is too much recently. I have my own sheet and quilt, that way I can cover/uncover with ease. Damn night sweats are an absolute bitch.

I'm on 3 Rx's because of my stomach & esophogus (bleeding out is a real worry due to FAR too much excessive aspirin intake for 40 years). I can't take anything that might possibly be a blood thinner. I have to stick to my dangerous estradiol, still, and hope I can wean myself off one day soon......... I don't think I'm going to even try during the pandemic though. (I also have hyopthyroid--just ran a ton of bloodwork to check on it this year). Hope you're doing well.
