Hello everyone, and welcome to the weekend! I had a terrible disaster a couple of days ago...... I dropped a glass jar on my MacBook and killed it D-E-A-D. My PC doesn't run Photoshop very well, it keeps crashing, so I haven't been able to do any sample pages. (And I probably won't be able to do much more scrapping this month either.) So for this challenge I pulled out some sketches from the PageMaps books that I bought quite some time ago when I used to do paper scrapping. The sample pages are also from the books. I hope they're not too dated! Here is the 12x12 sketch, and the sample page by Cari Locken: And here is the double page sketch, and sample page by Marla Kress: I'm going to keep the twist really simple today: Use rounded corners somewhere on your page - either the photos, or background mats, or journal block etc. Take 1 point for meeting the challenge, 1 point for meeting the twist on any project, and 5 bonus points for meeting the challenge AND twist on one project. I hope you have fun with this. If you need me, I'll be over there rocking and crying in the corner with my $2500 iPaperWeight!

Thanks for soldiering through, AussieMeg, with the sketch and samples from Page Maps. I hope you can feel our virtual hugs while you rock in the corner... I wouldn't worry about their being dated. The papers they use are older (and--let's face it--I have a LOT of older papers!) but I think the page designs can be adapted to almost any supplies.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about your macbook! I hope you're able to get something sorted so you can get back to creating pages again soon.

I’m sorry about your Mac AussieMeg. The papers I used are from 2013 so I don’t think dated is an issue.

If dated papers were the twist, I would have points for that one too. I've had this floral in my stash for years. Do y'all like my baby Groot die ? I've been waiting for just the occasion to use it

I used a mix of old and newer papers. I tried to use the accent papers to highlight my son’s activities this school year.

justjac, your Valentine page is gorgeous! Love the photos, all the hearts, and the pretty title. msliz, the subtle hearts are really cute with the floral pp. Great story. Great targeted use of those school papers, schroema. I often end up overwhelming my school pages with the papers, but this is the perfect balance! I have this one done. Will share tomorrow.

You have to look close to find the sketch...it's page 2 of the 2 pager, and it's turned 90 degrees counterclockwise But it worked really well!!! layout merry magic by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Here is my take on this challenge. Also using it for lilacgal's challenge from Thursday: Winter getaway 2021 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Full disclosure: I forgot about the rounded corner twist until it was all assembled. Lifted up a couple of corners and snuck in my corner rounder

justjac , your papers look so good together and I love the different heart effects in the photos. msliz , finding an old paper to highlight the dress pattern? Score! Perfect paper for planting a garden. Baby Groot makes me smile. schroema , you honored the sketch and used school theme paper, cool. kitbop , your people are having so much fun and your layout is so fun. How creative to twist the layout around. grammadee , I love how your torn paper represents the mountains and tree. Whoa. Just a lovely layout with the right amount of stuff. Here is my three for one. I used the sketch to write about my gramma and added some bold diecuts.

[tr][td class="content"][article] Full disclosure: I forgot about the rounded corner twist until it was all assembled. Lifted up a couple of corners and snuck in my corner rounder As did I grammadee, as did I LOVE your mountain scene! Great use of the torn edges - genius!

I've had this one sitting on my desk for over a week because I couldn't decide if it was done or not and since I'm still not sure I've decided to just call it done and move on.

I finally got around to doing a layout for one of these sketches. I'm only four months late!
