I do not have good shipping karma with any kit because my sampler kit took a detour to Puerto Rico according to the tracking (I live in California). I will be shocked if I actually get it.

I got my kit yesterday and my magazine today. I’m pleased with what I got for the cost. A couple of the papers are not my style (cutesy frogs and ladybugs) but not too concerned with that.

It looks like I might be getting mine today. There’s a YouTuber I watch who challenges herself to use up as much of the kit as she can and that’s my plan with these kits, try and use them right away either for cards or maybe if I ever print photos out again for layouts or pocket pages or something. Here’s the link to her most recent kit: youtu.be/cNJipsmAmTM

I have been a subscriber to the SCT Sampler since day 1. As much as I enjoy recieving them in the mail, most of mine never got used. But subscribed again for the full year and my friend and I have been challenging each other to use each kit every month. As for a kit...I actually shouldn't call it that as its not a kit, but a sample of products.

I got my sampler yesterday and it was pretty beat up from it's travels around the country but nothing was damaged. I was surprised the acrylic word wasn't snapped in half but it's pretty solid. I'll be curious to see what other people got, I was expecting more in the way of embellishments. I do really like the stamp set and the paper. I can use the B-sides for the frogs and butterflies (too cutesy for my style) but I think I can do something with all of it.

I too expected more embellishments than paper. But I do think I will use many of the provided samples. And I read on their site that there were supposed to be thickers in there but they were delayed...or destroyed maybe - on route to them so they just left them out. I'm glad I signed up for 3 months and will be able to see if I use these mini kits.

It will vary from month to month. The only consistent items is the 3D word and 6x6 papers. Some months it's embellishment heavy. Just not for April. Maybe it will be in May, or maybe not.

Did anyone get the May kit? I registered for July since that’s all that was open, but got an email asking if I’d like to start in May - and it just arrived! It’s my first one, and as a card maker may not use all that much but see possibilities. I like some of the papers, if not the A side, the B. Like no airplanes/suitcases/cups/objects for my type of card but like the navy stripes, wonky dots and flowers.
I’ve been reminding myself to use paper for layered frames or backgrounds rather than always making my own, though I do love making backgrounds, often more than the rest of the card.
I’d be glad to pop a bunch of the embellishments in an envelope if someone would like more.
Curious what others think.

I really like the May sampler. I think it's the first one ever that didn't include a 3d word (acrylic, foam, etc). I'm really interested in trying memory keeping lists in a TN, so I'm excited to having gotten one that is so cute!

Didn’t get mine yet, hoping for tomorrow. I’m working on a trip album so hopefully some of the travel themed stuff will work for me.

How's everyone liking their sampler kits so far? I got the most recent one yesterday and it's really not my style (a bit too much floral for me) but I can make it work.
I've been pretty happy with most of the kits and feel like I can make something out of all of them for the most part. I've also been watching a couple of YouTuber's who use up their sampler kits every month and show their process and/or what they make. That has helped me think outside of the proverbial box. LOL

Mine came, and like the last one, thought the collection was very nicely put together but won’t use much from it for cards. I’ll keep some of the papers.

Just wanted to check in on this and see if there are any more thoughts! I just got an email from them that looks promising but I'd love to check in and see any updated reviews!

Not for me. I'm too picky about what goes into my collection to be happy getting random supplies. The video where the 'big' item was a stencil would put me off even if that wasn't the case. If you like the idea of random monthly surprises though, at least it's not overly expensive.

I've been getting them every month for the past 2 years and I really like them. This year they include a metal die word and the "big" items have been stamp sets or other metal dies. There was a couple of months where I didn't really like the papers but that doesn't bother me too much.

After subscribing for 4+ years, I cancelled my subscription in the spring. I'm kind of soured on SCT at the moment so I'm taking a break from their offerings. I'll reassess in 2023.

Why are you sour on them? I don't like that in order to receive emails about the event you paid for, you also have to receive all their marketing emails. That is BS. I also don't like that after paying for an event, attendees were told they could not resell event exclusive items (I think eventually it was updated to not selling until after a certain time period). If they want to dictate what people can do with event items, they need to build that into the terms we agree to when buying our event ticket via the Google form. Not after the fact.

I subscribed for 4 months this spring. I felt like all 4 of the kits were so similar, so I cancelled. Not for me. Ryann I agree with your thoughts about reselling products. I’m taking part in the card event next week, and there are several items I may never use, or just use once for the class. Quite frankly, I’ll sell what I want, when it want. I mean, what can SCT *really* do about it other than tsk-tsk at us?

I have been getting their kit for the past few months. I like the classes that go along with them - Paige Evans did a class this summer for the month that 6x6 papers from her Splendid collection were included, and it was a really nice bonus. I also liked the diamond layering dies that were included a few kits ago. This past kit that we just received I didn't think was as good, though.
I also have been getting the stamp kit and I don't care for that so I won't be renewing. I would choose the Sampler over the bimonthly Stamp kit, personally. Maybe next year's stamps will be better, though, once the first year is under their belt.

I resurrected this thread because I got my partial refund for the Sampler kit since they're no longer doing them after December. I'm so sad.
