I haven’t been in Joanns since they were clearancing the papercrafts including the section with Paige Evans, Jen Hadfield, etc. Does anyone know if they are bringing in new collections? Or has that run it’s course?

I just went looking for a thread to tell me when they restocked last year. Didn't see one, but in 2019 it looks like it wasn't until April. 2019 JoAnn thread

My section still has those papers on clearance for 25 cents. It hasn't changed for months.

My Joanns rarely gets anything new. Same single sheets of paper and stickers, for years.
Nowadays, they have many of the lightbulb off or pulled out, so the whole store and certain aisles are darker, which makes the whole store feel drab. Add to that, one cashier only. Makes me rarely go in there.

I don't believe they're getting rid of it (no insider knowledge, just my hunch) but their restocking schedule has been pretty unpredictable and the pandemic has probably compounded that. I don't think they got all of the new AC collections promptly as they were released even before the pandemic. I think some sell better than others in their stores - Amy Tangerine, Paige and Jenn Hadfield seem to be the ones that do well.

My store had some emphera from Pink Paislee last time I was there that wasn’t matching the other collections. I’m wondering if that is some mew stuff they will be getting that got put out too early?

I just read that Joann's parent company is filing for an IPO, meaning they want to be a publicly traded company. Sometimes when retailers do this they let their stock run down and don't buy as much leading up to the IPO as well as offer sales to drive more $$$ into the store to increase their bottom line. This is also the reason to have less stock. After the IPO things will return to normal but then they will have shareholders to answer to which will more than likely change their business to some extent. ie. ETSY changed a lot after their IPO.

Or Joanns got rid of the paper craft section altogether. 🙄 Unless you want a Cricut you're out of luck.

Interesting! Especially since JoAnn used to be a publicly traded company before they were bought by Leonard Green & Partners back in 2010. I found this article which has some interesting insights on the JoAnn and the craft industry in general during the pandemic.
