All the best for a good outcome. It's a horribly anxious time while one waits for answers.

Hoping they can find a way to relieve your pain. My 80-year-old sister in law had this in her back and had a very successful back surgery in the summer.

Sooo not what I expected...compression spinal fracture. Wth? And how? Next step is a mri to confirm. I’m just speechless. I had one of those "when the tech goes to get a colleague" situations last year. It can be pretty disconcerting. Based on your reaction, I'm assuming this was a big surprise and that you haven't had any recent injuries. I'm so sorry about all the pain, but I love your attitude. Hopefully, the pain will improve as the fracture heals. Now to figure out what happened. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

I am glad that you at least have an answer, even if it is not what you expected to hear. Hopefully, after the mri, the doctors can come up with a treatment plan that works for you.

I hope you heal up quickly. That must have been scary and unexpected.
My mom had compression fractures in her spine due to osteoporosis. They healed on their own and she went on a medication that helped her build up her bone density. It's been about 6 years and hasn't happened again.

wow! no wonder you're in pain. At least now you know and they can go ahead with treating it. In the meantime I hope they've given you some pain meds to ease the discomfort.

Wow. Surprises come in all flavors, huh? Good luck with treatment. Also, just in case he forgets, this is definitely a reason for your husband to keep waiting on you.

Well, I'm glad it's something that is serious but not TOO serious, if you know what I mean.
I hope you have a quick and relatively painless recovery.

Compression spinal fractures are painful. Gentle (((hugs)))
My son has had at least 3 spinal compression fractures, but he has Osteogenesis Imperfecta/Brittle Bone disease. The first time he simply tripped in the living room and twisted his back while he fell.
I’m guessing that they will do a bone density scan to check your overall bone health, since it doesn’t sound like there is a specific traumatic incident you can point to as the cause of the fracture. Are you post-menopausal?
