As March approached, Donna started a thread called 'Simple Joys.' She wrote, "I have been more mindful of simple joys in my life." So the March Donna challenge is to do a layout about a simple joy in your life. This can be anything, and you get 5 extra points for including the words 'simple joy (s)' Total possible points are 5 for the layout and 5 more points for including the words of the prompt. As always, one point for every photo scrapped this month as well, as it was so important to Donna to get her photos scrapped but she was unable to do so before she passed away. Now, for everyone who takes on the Simple Joys part of the Donna Challenge, if you post here and let me know you did the challenge, you will be included in a drawing for a small prize from my stash. All participants who are willing to share their address privately with me if you are selected are eligible, from any where in the world. As long as I can mail it in an envelope to you then you can be included in the drawing. If you post your layout here you will get 2 chances for the drawing, one for participating and one for sharing on this thread. I don't know exactly what the prize will be yet, as I will make an effort to send something to the winner based on their interests. Whatever it is will be an unopened item from my stash and fit in an envelope. grammadee please include this on the challenge thread and on GS if you would like to. |

Here is my March page for our next year's family calendar. My daughter's family enjoying a couple of hours together during the hectic week of a family funeral. Daddy has been posted overseas for 11 months, and won't be home again for good until June. And he was executor of his mother's estate, so they had very little down time during the short period they were together this time. But it was +15C in Ontario (unheard of in March in northern Alberta) the day before being separated again, so they took some time to just enjoy a morning and each other. I meant to use the phrase simple joys in the journaling, but didn't on this one. Will definitely be using this photo again in my album, so will try to fit it in there. not 100% sure this fits - and to be honest, that's why I don't usually claim Donna Challenge points...I've never quite sure my layout is 'worthy' of them But the Simple Joy of having her big sister home - sorry the photo of the layout is awful  |

I love the idea about scrapping simple joys. Thank you for the reminder. I’m going to focus my memory planner page for next week on simple joys I find through the week in Donna’s honor.

I need to figure out how to post a photo.... I sent a card to a good friend of mine using the Lawn Fawn bubbles of Joy set. The sentiment was " May your world be filled with bursts of joy".

I don't know exactly when March is over around the world, so I am going to have my granddaughter draw a winner on Friday, April 2nd US East Coast time around 10 am.
So if you post that you did the challenge and/or post your entry I will put all of your names either once or twice if you posted your project, and she will pull a name. Then I will pm the winner for your address. If you win but do not want to share an address let me know and I will pull another winner. Because of Easter, I will give the winner until sometime next week to respond.
So feel free to keep posting thru April 1st.
