P-3 I never met a THICKER I didn't like - 1 point/package of thickers that makes it to your project.
P-4. Respect your elders - use OLD product on your page - 1 point for 2-5 year old stuff; 2 points for 5-7 year old stuff; 3 points for 8-10 year old stuff; 5 points for 10+ year old stuff. Does not include basics of stamps, dies, staplers, tools, inks, cardstocks.
P-5 Shine on! Use anything shiny or shimmery. It can be glitter paper, actual glitter, metal with a shine, bling, or shimmer in mists and sprays. One point for each type of shiny or shimmery.
P-6: Got carded! For every Project Life card used, claim 1 point (limited to 5/project).
P-7: Fasten It - Use some kind of fastener on your project eg. paper clip, pin, brad, photo turn, tape, stitching, staple etc. Take one point for each different type of fastener.
P-8: Framed - Use a frame on your page (does not include photo mat).
SHAPES/ICONS (hearts, hexagons, cameras) The shapes might include embellishments, photos, mats, pages or cards. Icons include any image on pp, diecuts, stamps, etc that you are challenging us to use: like "hearts" or "cameras" or "animals" or even "random", for example.
S/I-1 Use STARS!
S/I-2 feathers. One point for every diecut or stamped feather. 2 points for each “real” feather, 1 point for using feather pp. include all 3 for a bonus of 5 points. Add another 5 if you have a bird in at least one photo.
S/I-3 Circling Back to the start - it's been a year since this pandemic changed our lives and we're back to March, full circle! So use circles - 1 point/circle, does NOT include circles in a patterned paper (no, you can't count the polkadots!) or nuvo/enamel drops. But it includes any other circular shapes like buttons, brads, fussy cut/die cut circles, stitched circles, painted circles, stamped circles etc.
S/I-4 Triangles - since it's the 3rd month, let's use the shape with 3 sides! 1 point/triangle, does not include shapes in your patterned paper unless you cut them out.
S/I-5: Smile! - Use a smile on your project. It could be a sticker, or a flair, or a doodle that you've done.
COLOURS/MOODBOARDSC/M-1 Green. March has St Patrick's Day - so use green on your layout/card/project. 5 bonus points for a monchromatic green layout (neutrals and metallics ok but green needs to be the majority)
C/M-2 Use ROSEGOLD or GOLD
C/M-3 White - to celebrate my still snow covered ground, lets use white -
1 point for a white background;
1 point for white shapes/die cuts;
1 point for white enamel/nuvo drops or sequins;
1 point for a white alphabet.
C/M-4: Black & White Go black and white for your photo or your project (predominantly but not necessarily exclusively). If you manage to do both on a page, claim 5 bonus points.
C/M-5: St. Paddy's Day Rainbow. Use red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple on your card or layout. This could be rainbow stickers, rainbow paper, different letter stickers, Journaling. 10 points total.
C/M-6: Pink - my favorite color is pink. Give yourself 2 points for every pink item on your card or layout. Ex. Pink shirt in photo, pink paper, pink sticker = 6 points
C/M-7: no earth tones. Bright colours.
TECHNIQUES (like stamping, tearing edges, die cutting, sewing, clustering)
T-1: SPLATTER your page or cards
T-2 Die cutting - manual or electric die cutting.
1 point for an alphabet/title.
1 point for a basic shape or edge.
3 points for a layered object/pieced object.
Max 5 points/page (10 points for a 2 pager).
T-3 Sewing - machine or hand sewing 3 points; pen stitching 1 point; stitching outline from a die cut 1 point
T-4 Stamp on! Get those stamps out and stamp on your project. One point for each stamp used.
T-5 Consider the edges? Ink, distress, tear, or in some way alter the edge of the paper. One point for each different technique you use.
T-6: March In Line - Position your photos and elements in a line (like a big stretched out cluster) across the page. It can be a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line.
T-7: Break out of the box! Use techniques &/or tools &/or products you don’t usually use. One point for each new-to-you technique or product.
WORDS/ Titles like journaling challenges, using certain letters or words in your title or on your page, etc.)
W/T-1: "HELLO"
W/T-2 Use your "M" words - like March, Mom, Moose, Merry, Marvelous, Macrame... 1 point per M word in a title or on a die cut; 1 point for 3 M words in journaling.
W/T-3 MARCHing onward! 5 points if you scrapbook a page about a walk or hike; about a parade or marching band; or about something military!
W/T-4 Tell the story 5 points for each 50 words of journaling on your layouts.
W/T-5: OPV Other Person's View: include someone else's words on your project. It could be a common saying someone uses on their card, or you could include someone's conversation by memory or a screenshot of a text or message on a page. Hey: ask the subject of a page to provide some journaling to go with the photos! One point for each different quote or screenshot.
W/T-6. Journal, title and date a LO
THEMES (birthdays, anniversaries, pets, outdoors, seasonal, vacations, etc)
Th-1 Happy Birthday! Any birthday card or page about a birthday.
Th-2 Cats - pet cats, BIG cats (lions etc...), cat costumes...use a cat embellishment or a photo of a cat or mention a cat in your journalling...include one or more cats on your layout/card/project in some way
TH-3: ENCOURAGEMENT!
Th-4 Holiday Catch all! You may be working on Christmas still, or Valentine's day celebrations, what ever it is . . . a holiday specific to your family, scrap it up OR make a card to send for St. Patrick's Day or Easter. One point per layout.
Th-5: 2021 Stay up to date and claim 1 point for every page about the current year.
Th-6: To Your Health Make a project related to health, wellness or wellbeing. Perfect for documenting the current state of the pandemic or making congratulations-on-your-vaccination cards!
Th-7: The Great Outdoors - Scrap photos that were taken outdoors. One point per photos. Bonus point for each photo if they were taken in February or March.
NUMBERS/SIZES: challenge us to use extra large or extra small photos or titles or other elements, use numbers on the project or a specific number, OR a specific number of layers, or clusters or other items. (Don't forget that ZERO is a number, so "Look Ma, no pp!" fits into this category.
N/S-1: 3 is the key - since it's the 3rd month, use exactly 3 photos on your page for 3 points. If it's a 2 page spread, you only need to count the photos on 1 of those pages.
N/S-2: Visual Triangle - for the 3rd month, lets celebrate the visual triangle - 3 distinct clusters of 3 or more items. 3 points
N/S-3 Pattern palooza! Use at least 3 patterns in your project, this can also include patterned paper, washi tape, ribbon and so on. Earn 3 points, with a bonus point for each pattern included above 3.
N/S-4 Layer it up Use at least 3 layers (base layer counts too). Earn 1 point for 3 layers, with a bonus point for each layer above 3.
N/S-5: Mini Mini Mini Claim 1 point for each photo smaller than 4x6 on your project.
N/S-6: Maxi Maxi Maxi Make your photo XL for 1 point. Anything larger than 4x6 counts.
