I've lost my mind. I couldn't find any fabric I liked for my dining room windows so I'm using my sewing machine to embroider my own - 12 yards of it! I have one 3 yard panel done. The story is on my blog. Blog postHere's a snapshot. when I saw this on Instagram, that (bolded) is exactly what I thought! It will be lovely though, I'm sure.

Still the same Sweet Caroline one from a year ago. I had a BIG argument with the next row and it went in the naughty corner. It's still there. This past year has been a bit of a wash-out for me, what with Covid overtime and not feeling well. There's no hurry for it though - it's intended to end up a lap blanket to go into the church pew, and the church are still closed. I can post the link to the pattern if you're interested, but it's a lot like yours is, isn't it? Except that yours is bigger and better!

Here's my Aiona scarf immediately after surgery! The pattern had you knitting the scarf connecting the ends. Aside from the drop stitch pattern there was 22 knit stitches each row surrounded by 1KFBL (knit from the back loop) on each side. So you actually cut through the beginning of the round which was in the middle of those 24 stitches. Then you unravel, and the unravelling is stopped on each end by the KFBL. I have grouped the strands together by color and made a knot. Tomorrow, I will add additional knots to different lengths of the fringe. I also have a couple of (not in the pattern) dropped stitches I have to fix, and then block. Hey, I'm feeling good. This one scared me and then stretched me. I also am in love with the colors! I love, love, love excellent color combos, and this is so beautiful. On to the next project!

It's fabulous jeremysgirl. It's because of your blanket I got the pattern.

I finally got a basket for my socks It sits on a shelf in my wardrobe and I can see all my socks everytime I slide the door open (I'm easily amused!)

FINISHED!! Ya'll. Looking at this photo I can see every little imperfection... but overall I like the basket and I learned a new technique doing the rim. So I'm calling it good. I'm thinking about doing a market basket with a fancy handle next. Maybe an Easter basket?

jennifercw the shape of this one is so cool. I love the pattern the caning makes. Thanks! The weaving (O1, U2, O3, U1) does have an interesting pattern but it sure takes more concentration than a simple over under - I do occasionally lose my place and have to rip out a bit of weaving and try again! (I really don't think I could knit or crochet for that reason...) The shape is called a cat head for reasons more obvious when upside down. I love it too - it makes it look like the basket has feet.

I just made almond butter chocolate chip cookies. Does that count as crafting? They're sooooo good! This is the recipe- made them in my stand mixer - double batch and added 1.5c semi-sweet chocolate chips- made 60 cookies. I would just do 1c of chocolate chips in the future- they're REALLY full of chocolate. eta: recipe... www.kyleecooks.com/baking-almond-butter-cookies/

This is my hexagon scrap blanket so far, I've got 24 more to add. I didn't want to buy anymore of the SSDK so I've used different colours of what I had to join. It's going to be big enough for a lap blanket.

I love it lainey! MichyM I wanted to make sure you see lainey's blanket made from scraps. This is a very good idea. You guys I just can't wait to see all the Christmas blankets coming since you have all ordered the pattern! Mine is the medium size. And it is just right for a one person throw.

Thank you I'm really pleased with it, I started using the Aria blanket colour chart but got fed up and ended up just doing anything. I put the hexagons in a bag and I'm just randomly picking them out to join, I think it's worked really well.
The hexagons are great for scraps as they use a really small amount of yarn.

I was going to ask how you did the colour choices. It’s very effective. I’m loving your bracelet alexa11. It must take a lot of time. Did you design it yourself?

gillyp I want to ask you about your ends on your Queen. Now that I'm getting to the end of my Christmas blanket I'm getting nervous about actually being able to simply crochet over the ends with the border. I'm just worried it's going to be too bulky under the stitches and I would be better served by just weaving them in the traditional way. Give me some advice please.

I'm just worried it's going to be too bulky under the stitches and I would be better served by just weaving them in the traditional way. Give me some advice please. Hi jeremysgirl , not gillyp but I'm just taking a break from the final round of front border on my Queen (over 1200 stitches!) before the final joining row to create the enclosure so I thought I'd give you my answer. I suggest watching the video below by Tinna, it's covers the Havana border but is a quickish watch. You have to do some work on the ends before you start the border, you start at one end and double knot two threads together all along the side. Once done you trim the threads to 5cms, 2 inches so that deals with a lot of the bulk. You end up with a padded feel to your border on two sides, not having to weave in the ends was one of the attractions to me! I think weaving in the ends might interfere with the set up for the border and could cause you issues. But have a look at the video and see what you think. Are you planning to do the bells on the border or a plain border? m.youtube.com/watch?v=QUYGnsrgK0Q

wellway thank you so much for weighing in. I will watch the video. No I don't plan to do the bells. Too busy and I don't think I have enough mustard color anyway. I think I may do the border that Lucy at Attic 24 just did on her meadow blanket. I am worried about doing this for sure.
