Hi all! Anyone planning to do Ali's Day in the Life this year? I think it's March 9th. I've not decided whether to just take the photos or whether I'll make them into something. I wondered about doing it in video form too, maybe one of those 1 second compilation thingies? Anyone else got plans to join in?

Nice to see you on the board, Suse. I like your videos I have to say, I prefer the Week in the Life project much more than DITL. Especially this year. I just don't feel like I have enough going on in my day to make a whole project out of my current semi-quarantine kinda life. Though, I suppose for anyone who has done a DITL project each year for awhile now, the contrast of this year might be noteworthy for how it's so different from past years. Last year, at this time, my life was all about pandemic prepping. When I've done WITL in the past I've only made a 2 page layout from it. I like your idea of a video though. We had a couple of board members participating in, if I recall correctly, a one second daily video project that resulted in a 365 second video at year end. I could see doing something like that for the day. Maybe 10 seconds, each half hour, for 15 hours, or however anyone wanted to structure it. I'll be interested to see what everyone chooses to do with it.

I will probably follow along, take pictures and notes, fizzle out by the afternoon, and never get around to scrapping it...like I do every year!
I do think this year is worth capturing how pandemic life is different, so I do plan to try.

I’ve never done any day or week in the life projects. They never appealed to me before. But I’m toying with it this year for some reason.
I just don’t know if I can throw it on my plate right now.

I'm in! I plan to use my 6x8 album that houses my 2020 DITL & WITL, plenty of room. Last year, I did a hour by hour blow by of the day..yikes. This year I am going to use the "ing" cards loving/eating/wearing/learning/going/watching..etc and be a little more relaxed.
I did create a March DITL folder on my computer and copied over my digital DITL 2020 files, also with some other digital files that might work well with the day. I plan on trying to take a bunch of pics, journal every hour or so, and then put the day together later in the month.

I've been thinking about it, but don't know what day I'll do.
I actually want to do two days: a work day & a day off day. They are so different.
But each day will only be scrapped on one page.
Is there a site that has a guide on DITL?

Well, I did WITL last year because life was so different with quarantine & work from home. I will do a WITL this year just to show the difference, I doubt it will be a regular thing as it’s similar to what goes in my memory planner. I doubt I’ll do a full DITL but I’ll probably try to document my dogs upcoming surgery, though I won’t do anything with it if something goes wrong. I’ll probably just do an insert in my planner for it if everything goes OK.

maybe - how's that for decisive? I've never done DITL before and last year was my first WITL

I will. It will be interesting and different this year as we are getting down to the nitty gritty of packing. It wil end up in one of two of my DITL albums.

I start taking pictures and notes, then I forget by about 3 or 4 p.m. and never scrap those photos. I like the idea of this project but I just never follow through.

Not feeling DITL this time. I did WITL back in May and the days look the same now as then I'd like to do a DITL when the days look something different than I've already been documenting for the past year

I'm thinking about it. I did week in the life for the first time in 2020. I don't think I'll do a separate album, but maybe a double 12x12 layout.

I'm always a bit torn with this project... I love taking photos and sharing them, but I'm not about to share anything that's not pretty - my issue, certainly. So the project ends up being as far from Ali's 'real life' vision as you could get: pics edited to death, hair unusually styled, everything fitting my colour scheme. But I guess the bit I enjoy is the creating, however 'manipulated' the truth. This year will be tougher for sure, especially as we're in another lockdown here in the Isle of Man. There may be lots of high-contrast photos of my cat... Or perhaps I change outfit for every photo, embrace the un-reality.

Years ago I did a DITL, although not with any prompts or a paid class. It was just pictures from an average day of a mom and two little ones. I love that layout so much. I wish I had done it more often. Funny how you think not much is going on but I miss those days and those little things we did that day like going to the library are things I love to remember now. I've also done photo a day layouts that I really love. It's a little slice of life. I did one for April 2020 and it's interesting to look back on how we felt as we were beginning to adjust to the pandemic.
I'm talking myself into doing this again soon. Maybe a WITL.

I’m doing it Monday because it’s my cats first birthday. This is life quarantined in NJ. This is as exciting as it gets.

I am thinking about doing it but may end up doing a different day if the 9th doesn't get off to a good start, i.e. if I realise at 3pm that I had forgotten to take any pictures, which is what usually happens.
